Sturridge - Chelsea

Forget about the semantics, I'm not going to argue with what makes a bigger club, but, I am sure you understand that Chelsea is the more attractive option between the 2 of us, for the worlds best talent when considering a club.

Absolutely Chelsea are the more attractive option right now.
But we will get there in the near future and I doubt at this stage of the game Chelsea will give this young man the kind of
money he is foolishly looking for, he is still pretty much unproven and basically his head is up his arse.

If he goes he goes, i couldn't give a shit to be honest, were gonna sign better players than him and he will be about 4th in the strikers list very soon so he will want off anyway.

Another thread where the usual nobhead football fan attitude comes to the fore.

"Oh, someone is rumoured (yes, rumoured) to be doing something I don't like. In this case maybe leave the club. Therefore, even if he is one of our players I'll slag him off, call him all the names under the sun and say he was shit all along and won't make it."

Fucking pathetic.

Probably the same wankers who all slagged off SWP and said he was a **** who should be booed whenever he came back.

Funny that you don't find many of these hypocritical twats around much now. All gone very quiet.

Willing to slaughter someone at the drop of a hat and buy into whatever mud is slung.

If this lad leaves in the summer it will be a disgrace and the people at the club who have allowed it, either by not sorting a decent contract or by not convincing him he has a massive future here are a disgrace too.

Do you fucking idiots really think he is asking for a stupid contract because he fancies a big payday elsewhere?

What club apart from City is going to pay him a huge contract and see all their established players get the ar$e and want rises?

No-one has the money for a start.

Get a fucking grip and stop believing the shit that is fed to you like fucking lemmings.

Mind you, it's the same cunts and the same attitude that saw people label Micah the biggest **** ever to play football a couple of months ago. Sad cunts have got to have someone to slag off, haven't you.

Can't keep the persecution complex going otherwise, eh?

Which nasty man will be being nasty to you all after Sturridge leaves.

How about Ireland again?

We must try and keep this lad as much as we can, but if he is asking for silly money I suppose there's not much we can do. He will go on to be the best striker for England with Rooney for many years to come, he's a class talent who can change a game (like Blackburn), great feet, not afraid to shoot, good skill and is one of the must keeps imo.

Ok couple of things.

Firstly to the chelsea fan at the mo you dont even know who your manager is going to be next season so how on earth you think you have a concrete plan of what players you are bringing in and that are going to leave escapes me, couple this with abramovichs well documented losses in the global markets and you are not the cash cow you once were, it is doubtful you will become a selling club but lavish spending sprees are no more.

Secondly and more importantly is this. Sturridge has long been touted as the great hope of this club, the new gazza, owen ( put any english superstar here ) but the facts are these at 19 he is yet to complete a full 90 minutes ( both owen and rooney were starting for their respective clubs as first choice at this age ), if he is as good as HE thinks is then why not take an incentives based contract, surely he as a player can see the johnson situation and how we are not going to be fooled into going down that route again, thirdly i am not saying the kid shouldnt be prepared to get the best contract he can but he should recognise where he is in his football development at the moment, he hasnt developed anywhere close to some of the kids not just at this club but across the premiership but wants to put himself in the same bracket as those and thats unreasonable.

This is not a character attack on the player as I would like to him to say just saying i can see it from both sides and while some blame lies with city, the majority of the blame must lie with the player as he is being unreasonable in what he wants. Two examples from this club are Ireland and Onohua both of which have forced their way into the first team and as such been rewarded with pay increases and improved contracts and DS cannot expect the same treatment until he proves himself as a valuable member of the first team, city have been caught out to many times before by that word potential, yes he may have the potential to go on and be the best british striker of his generation, but what price potential, plenty of players have had that label tagged on them, very few have gone on to achieve it and to be fair from what I have seen DS has shown me very little to suggest that he will.

To the Chelsea fan who thinks they are going to start giving young players a chance, why not start with some of the players Roman has already bought and who were cained in last seasons Youth Cup Final??

Sturridge only needs to look at Sahar, Sinclair, Mancienne, Stoch and even the first team players who have never had a game to realise that moving to Chelsea would be a terrible move!

Sturridge is one hell of a prospect and is gonna be a top English striker who'll bang them in in the prem season after season like Alan Shearer and Ian Wright did. I really hope we keep hold of the lad

Sahar, Sinclair, Mancienne, Stoch

Sahar and Sinclair are not as good as Sturridge is, Sinclair is on loan now, and might not be quite as good as we'd hope, however, we are sticking by him, and he is still dedicated at making it at Chelsea.

Sahar, was in and around the 1st team 2 years ago, sometimes preferred to Shevy, he needed a run of games so he's been going on loan trying to shine, he's in the Dutch league now, and although he's not prolific, Ajax are now interested, and he scored a corker.

Stoch and Mancienne are part of our first team squad now.

Sturridge's position will be different, we have 2 different transfer policies.
We have a transfer team who deal with talent that are 17 and under, who come in to our Youth and reserves. Those 18 and over are bought for the first team squad, so if we do buy Sturridge, then it'd mean that he'll probably secure a bench striking position, however, with the African Nations Cup, meaning Drogba and Kalou gone, he'll have time to make all the impact he wants to make.

Are you absolutely sure? If a guy's contract expires, doesn't he become a free agent?

We get compensation as he is under the age of 24. I think Chelsea had to pay about £5mil for Mikel even though his contract was up.
Chelsea paid the rags 12m for him, didn't they? I don't think Mikel had even travelled to Manchester when they sold him on to the rent boys. Best bit of business baconface has ever done.
