Can i just make sure i get something right here.

Hallal meat (whatever it's called) is just meat from animals that haven't been butchered and slaughtered to death??? Just humanely killed.

nope -

"The food must come from a supplier that uses halal practices. Specifically, the slaughter must be performed by a Muslim, who must precede the slaughter by invoking the name of Allah, most commonly by saying "Bismillah" ("In the name of God") and then three times "Allahu akbar" (God is the greatest). Then, the animal must be slaughtered with a sharp knife by cutting the throat, windpipe and the blood vessels in the neck (while the animal is conscious), causing the animal’s death without cutting the spinal cord. Lastly, the blood from the veins must be drained."

its cruel

The Halal method of slaughter may appear barbaric. Is it crueller than other methods though? You've seen how chickens are killed or, how baby male chicks are 'disposed' of.
Pigs are known to experience stress and fear at the slaughterhouse because they 'know' a terrible fate awaits them.

it's cruel as fuck to eat meat anyway (depending how you view our furry friends) and if I had to kill my own animals for consumption I'd be a veggie pretty quick.

me too - suppose its hypocritical but there is no way I could kill something to eat it. I couldn't even gut and clean a fish

1) isn't Subway a franchise? so I'm right in saying YOU could open up a subway and not serve Halal meat.
just another Daily Fail.
There's a Subway on every street corner around here. I've seen how the meat is produced and it's such a shitty quality I'd rather eat Donner meat over that shit.

2) You have the choice. enter a Subway/shop that's serving Halal meat? disagree with this? keep your money in your wallet and walk back out. Find somewhere else to eat.

I haven't eat a Subway for a few years now after seeing the meat that's produced by them.
costs about 20p to serve you this shit and they charge you £5

3) Sure, the meat might of been prayed for but it's still cancerous shit

Considering the amount of atheists on the board, the fact an animal has been killed in a fashion and had someone warble some words over it really shouldn't bother anyone. Or am I missing the point?

I could understand the Animal Rights types being against it due to the method of killing, but everyone else? The food tastes no different, none of you's believe in a god so the chanting bit is of no import so does it just come down to a fear of change? If this is such an outrage, you can always exercise your right to consumer choice. If it you choose not to purchase their product and it then affects their bottom line, they'll soon change to whatever the market is then dictating.

Or, again, am I missing the point?

Thank you! At last someone with sense.
Meat eaters fighting over ''my way of slaughtering an animal is better than your way of slaughtering an animal''.
Either way the animal has been murdered. Enjoy your ham butty.

I go past one every morning on the way to work and the smell alone puts me off. I think it's the dough or meatballs defrosting. Smells rank anyway
I love the smell of subway! I like the chicken teriyaki subs. The meatball ones look fucked up though.
