We have seen the legitimisation and normalisation of bigotry and racism that has always been just below the surface.
It‘s not new- just go and watch ‘Till Death Us Do Part’ and that was set in the 1960s.
Brexit was the real trigger for this modern incarnation of bigotry, and of course, the demonisation of those who actually care for their country and it’s people wit pejorative terms like ‘woke’ and ‘snowflakes, and blame apportioning onto those who ‘talked the country down’ and didn’t ‘believe’ hard enough.
