To be fair we managed to snare Gundogan and Nolito for about £30m last summer and I think we had the right idea in those type of signings. Plus we signed a lot for the future too, they might end up playing a vital part in years to come or we sell them for profit.

I don't think there's anything wrong with picking up some lesser names who can make our squad stronger, although it can be a gamble. But we're in the position where we need quality and a lot of our first team players are out of contract so I still reckon we're gonna spunk a huge amount of players this summer.
 
Two centre midfielders to replace Yaya and Fern, two fullbacks, central defender and goalkeeper.

How much would that be?

I'd like to see Mendy, Fabinho, Ederson/Rulli,Laporte,Isco,Coman come in.
Sagna,Clichy,Kolarov,Otamendi,Navas,Yaya,Iheanacho(Loan), Fernando out.
Also integrate Garcia more, Foden,Sancho,Diaz etc.

You are right. If we want a couple of Monaco players - they'll happily take us to the cleaners - we should be looking at where they'd source the replacements - that's the trick we are missing. We are behaving like a thick twat with loads of money - too stupid to bother looking for a bargain.
 
A proper overhaul needed. Starting from the back, with some tinkering up front. Bring Ederson from Benfica as our starting GK.

3-4 new defenders. Basically a new starting back 4 with the exception of Stones. With possibly 1 new back-up CB. Could see Maffeo playing a role next season, depending on his level when he comes back.

Then.....1 midfielder to replace Yaya and another one to provide competition for Silva/De Bruyne.

Not sure about another winger/forward. If Aguero leaves...then yes. Otherwise don't see the need.

Ideal summer:

In:

1 GK
2 CB's
2 FB's
2 Mf's
1 FW IF Aguero leaves.

Leaving:

Bravo or Caballero, Clichy, Sagna, Zabba, Yaya, Navas, Nolito, Kompany, Nasri, Mangala, Denayer, Hart, Fernando, Delph, Bony, Iheanacho.
 
There is no way Bravo is going anywhere. Too much investment from Pep, also can't see Kun leaving but it is strange that there wasn't a major celebration once his extension was signed.... I also expect Nolito, Fernando and Nacho to continue as squad players.

Denayer, Clichy, Yaya, Mangala, Hart, Delph, Navas, Sagna, Willy, Nasri and Bony will be out IMO and possibly / unfortunately Vinny and Zabs......

Tbf with pep here I think we'll spend wisely. Look at his record for bayern. On top my head i think he bought Kimmich for 7 mil, D.Costa for 25 mil, Thiago 21 mil and theirs probably a few more bargains too.

We'll probably sign a few youngsters (ages between 21 and 24) with potential like Grimaldo and hopefully we get Dahoud/Tolisso/Weigl/Diawara, Mauricio Lemas who'll be cheap and suits our style of play, a right back (Fabinho or Henrichs), Bernardo Silva, Belotti and Ederson Moraes
 
I guess we'll be linked with Aubemeyang or whatever his name is. Don't want to see Sergio go but if it happens I could see us maybe going for Lukaku. Don't want Wilshere (I think Foden could be as good and better in 2-3 years) Obvious:- goalie, 2 full-backs, 1 or 2 centre-backs and 2 or 3 loanees/EDS guys to come through
 
Fabinho would be a great addition in my eyes, tall, physical, adaptable and at 23 he still has his best years ahead of him. Signing him, pushing through Maffeo and keeping Zaba for 1 more year should give us the cover needed for right-back and an additional option at CDM.

With regards to a centre-back we really need someone who is in their prime now, Bonnuci was a big miss last Summer. I think with Virgil Van Dijk's premier league experience and no doubt hunger to win trophies he could be a good option, but he'll come with a hefty price tag and hasn't played in big European games so there's still an element of risk.

Does anyone think that Aaron Mooy could make it? I know he's playing championship football currently, but could Pep turn him into that pivot midfielder that connects the defence with our attacking midfielders and forwards? I think he reads the game well, has a tackle about him and has a great pass, its whether he's up to the standard that's the question.
 
Hello guys I am new here. Long time watcher first time poster.

My signings would be Isco, Fabinho, Henrique, Lucas Hernandez, Bernat and Ederson. I do not think we need a winger because the KDB can play out wide if needed, with Isco covering him in midfield. Also Fabinho is a no brainer he can play DM and RB. Hernandez can also play left back so you have Bernat and Hernandez covering Lb with Kolarov purely as CB.
 
We really do have big issues to solve in our first 11 and squad.

It appears we play best (at least until last night) in the 4-1-4-1/ 4-3-3 variant with Yaya as the holding midfielder with KdB and Silva in front, Sane left, Sterling right and Kun/ Jesus up front.

Firstly we need a keeper, 2 full backs and centre back to play with Stones, Yaya is off so we need a replacement and Fernandinho is looking less likely to be the man.

We play a lot football so we need do have a number of players for each position. At the moment of our front 6, we only have Fernandinho who can play Yaya's current role and Jesus as an option for Kun or Sane. We have no other options to Silva and KdB in the positions in front of Yaya as Gundogan who can play the 6 or 8 role is injured. If we take any of Silva, Sterling, Sane, Kun, Yaya or KdB out of the team we are nowhere near as fluent. We need options there.

We really need to get players who can play on the half turn, Yaya can, Fernandinho can but none of our full backs or Fernando can so if the ball is played to them any decent press and we go backwards. It was very obvious first half that Monaco had to press Clichy and Sagna to stop us getting any rhythm at all. It didn't help that Fernandinho got caught in possession and neither KdB nor Silva could keep possession either.

Looking ahead possibly replaced the season after - Fernandinho, Yaya, Kolarov, Otamendi, Caballero, Kompany, Zabaleta.
 
I'm all for buying top youngsters but we are going nowhere if Pep doesn't sign a true leader at CB or in Midfield. I remember a 19 year old Gabriel Jesus in one match yelling at his team mates to press, that tells you everything. Pep please sign a real captain, don't be naive!
