Not replacing kompany was a massive mistake as we all know and if we’re replacing Sané and silva with a load of kids , I can’t help but think we are going to go massively backwards next season but in pep we trust !
Pep only wants players with the quality to be a starter or youngsters with elite talent to be a part of his team.
For David:
Aouar is experienced but will have to adapt first.
Foden is adapted but has little experience.
Most feeder clubs or top clubs would have been happy with only Foden or Aouar and then probably sign a squad player.
For Sane:
Braaf(18) is extremely talented but inconsistent
Rogers(18) doesn't affect games much, but Pep really loves his physical(1.91m tall) & technical profile very very much
Amad Traoré(18) Left-footed, agile in tight spaces, fast in open spaces
Mohamed Ihattaren(18) Left-footed, 1500+ min of experience. Has the ability to play the Sané role perfectly (minus the searing pace)
That is 4 talented youngersters to replace the productivity of 1 starting player leaving.
In most other top clubs or Feeder clubs, they would be happy to get their hands on a single wonderkid replace their departing starting player.
They are always risks when replacing a starting player with a younger one, but strength in numbers helps mitigate that.
