Sunday, the derby nobody wants to win?

You can tell Bobby is worrying about all this. Right from the start of the season he was pointing up the affect an inadequate squad can have in the latter half of seasons, Spurs being his prime example. Personally, if we were to sacrifice anything, I'd like it to be the Europa. I don't want the Thursday/Sunday games cycle at the best of times and that's before you factor in the weird kick off times and people taking the piss about us dropping down into that competition. I think we should play no one of any significance. Just a really annoying competition.

i had'nt done but i have now.

i still maintain it was a weaker team he put out in those games. that said i'd love to know what other city fans think, i say once kolorov, zab and dzeko are chosen ahead of clichy, micah and balo we are weaker.

An indisputable fact IMO. I rate all 6 but I'd be surprised if many on here think that the first three are stronger/ better than the second three.

exactly.

on the flip side would the latter 3 be better if they had to play every week because they were seen to be the better trio?

And does any of this mean that because the first 3 are perceived to be weaker that that means they aren't good enough to have done the job in games where they played and we dropped points?

I don't, if they don't perform to the standard they should have it's their fault, they're all good enough to have ensured that we won every game this season, but sometimes they just don't do their jobs properly.

One factor to take into account regarding team selection is that the Liverpool game is potentially much more tiring.

If we're 2 up after 70 mins against United we'll try to close out the game.

If we're 2 up after 70 mins against Liverpool we should go all out to finish off the tie.

pmsl.

it did'nt work in munich so he did it again in naples, in a must win?

he wanted out, clear as day.

De Niro - just for one second consider something...

Open your mind to the fact that Bobby DIDN'T see them as weakened teams. Imagine for one second that he saw the team as a group selected from the quality squad at his disposal. What may be weak in your eyes may not be in Bobby's. Just consider that.

I might be wrong, but I thought Mario was banned for Munich and played the full 90 in Naples?

Have to agree with the OP.

From a personal perspective I don't think I've cared about a derby game/result less since the Pearce (the won they beat us with 10 men) era - not counting the communcity shield as a competetive game ofc.

Still would be nice to win, but the now we've won a "major" trophy all I want is more trophies and we have more chance of winning the CC & PL.

could have done but i;d had a beer or two but my point is he did change the side to a weaker one, regardless of the personel, you dont do that v bayern and napoli if you want to progress.
i even think bob has dispatched the toures for this weeks game cos had they been here they'd have expected to play, just my thoughts.

we are defending our trophy , and any f*cker on here who says sunday is not an important game , is a complete tw*t or a rag. We dont just want to beat them , we want to humiliate them and laugh in their faces on monday, again

Will either side care if they win or lose the game, cos I don't .
Don't think the mangers are bothered either. You could say fergie needs it more than us because it's his last chance of silverware this season( its great that we stand in the way of everything they can win) but the title has always been his priority and for us it's the only thing we are interested in.
The "winner" of this game immediately hands and advantage to the other side for the prem title and I for one aren't bothered about the cup.
I suppose in the ideal world we'd knock them out and then play the kids from then on.

Can see it being a subdued affair. Even against them.

Stopped reading there.

The day de nero stops caring about City winning is the day he starts using capital letters and making his own brews.

I made a brew last October, mind you I was in on my own :)

Can you imagine me not bothered about city winning ? Lol.

Just that me roberto and sir Alex can see the bigger picture, we know our football .

A pundit on the radio last night said yaya would not have played anyway and he's dead right .
