Sunderland allocation. Reply from there safety officer

Here's a thought. Perhaps if we sat down we'd get a bigger allocation.
Bleating about it is rather pathetic. Please face up to the fact that the more you sand at away games the less tickets MCFC will get for City supporters to follow the team around the country.

It's your fault. No one else's.

Living up to the username i see.

Grim reality. Some clubs have less accommodating licensing authorities than ours, and safety officers who are less tolerant of standing than ours (whose only issue is with those who want to be able to stand anywhere regardless of other fans' wishes).

Why not just go into the home end. Have done this the last 4 or 5 times we have been there. No problems as long as you don't go stupid. You can buy a ticket on the day usually. This year a Sunderland season ticket holder has given me his ticket at no cost as he thinks he will be too ill to attend based on his last 3 New Years Eve celebrations.

Couple of points:

If standing is such a huge safety risk:

a) why did Sunderland deem our allocation reduction from 3200 to 2700 acceptable three years ago?

b) why is it only Sunderland who have reduced our allocation?

Reducing allocations doesn't reduce any perceived risk if fans still stand regardless.

good points although I am pretty sure that Bolton have done it in the past also and Middlesbough.
