Pellegrini on #mcfc listless display v #safc: “We couldn’t take (get) the game against Liverpool out of our minds”

I am dumbstruck at that comment. Thats his job FFS

Did you actually hear Mr Pellegrini say that or just going off a journo's tweet?

He said it, just watched it then
Ok thanks, not the smartest thing to say!!!

Look at our team now (including manager) to when we won the league. Totally different team. De jong, Tevez, Balotelli, Barry, Clichy and Lescott played the last games. Also, Silva and Yaya weren't playing today. I also think Pantilimon is having the piss took out of him.

Mancini didn't take shit...he got some shit for it at times but you look at the fight we had in that season, it was unreal. We've got a squad with a lot of new players...it's unlucky Negredo isn't on form and don't think Dzeko can adapt fully to the league. He's had a decent season in the cups but other than that, he just hasn't got the ability needed for top level football.

4-4-2 should work for us but Our back four at the minute looks dodgy as hell. I think the best team up is Kompany and Lescott. Lescott is the most accurate passer in our defence and we have the most clean sheets when him and Kompany are playing together. Zaba is our trooper who lets be honest, Must be shattered around now. Don't get me started on Demichellis. I think if Yaya and Silva were playing today, we could have afforded playing Richards (although not 100% fit) just to give zaba a much needed rest for the remainders.

COME ON CITY!!

Hes tweeting from the press conference. Hes put it in a direct quote so I'm presuming thats exactly what he said.

after 37yrs of supporting city, nothing suprises me, and tonight you come see it coming, we were so limp after 1st goal went in, totally clueless. tbh now MP needs to go through squad and get rid of the deadwood.
headless chickens we were. 4 strikers and not 1 goal from them,.,
we gave ball away so many times, but hey ho title has gone, but it wasnt lost 2nite, it was lost at cardiff, villa etc something is seriously wrong if bottomish teams are beating us.

hopefully there be a major clear out and MP needs to look at himself as well, these are world class players, if you can motivate them, then something is lacking

We have not bought a world class player since Aguero and are paying the price now. Should have spent money on two absolute class acts last summer instead of 4 decent pl;ayers one of which has hardly kicked a ball.

Throwing money at it is not the way to build a successful team. We already have the players, why does everyone always go on about spending money? A couple of weeks ago this team were being lauded on here. A couple of mediocre matches & suddenly they are a third division side! Fickle fans.

We're Man City we fight to the end, the Boys in Blue never give in!!

looked like we did tonight

Without wanting to sound contentious if they had given in we would have lost 1-2! :-)

Quite simply

FUCK OFF PELLIGRINI !!

You're a wank stain compared to Mancini

FFS behave, remember last seasons abject performances?

Yes I do, but I also remember the performances the season before too, so what?

It's this season that counts and this garbage manager decided to rest one of our key midfielders for a must win game! He repeated the same mistakes he made against Wigan / Watford in the FA Cup games, this tit never learns!!

Was in the papers today or yesterday pellegrini had said the players were mentally flat after the liverpool game, even if that is the case he shouldn't be spouting it to the press,i like pellegrini and some of the football this season has been fantastic, but the monkey on his back having won fcuk all in europe was always a worry for me(league cup aside)..
Mentally flat but with smiles on their faces so all is good
Otherwise holistic....

I the absence of Silva, his role would have been to create, dictate and cause panic in their defence, he did didn't do enough of that tonight. All he did was play it safe. Yes he scored and should have got a third, but that completely disguises what was a poor performance from Nasri. First half he did not complete, fuck it, he didn't even attempt one meaningful pass, just played it safe every time.
That's not the type of player he is. That's like when Aguero gets injured expecting donkey Dzeko to do the same? The only comparison between Silva and Nasri is they both possesses great ball control and maintain possession of the ball (rarely giving it away)

What is his job then? To just hold onto the ball, or should he create or at least attempt to create a bit more. He played it safe all night mate bar those last ten minutes when we were a goal down. My expectations clearly are different to yours, but the position he plays, and we know he can do it, I expect a bit more and he did not deliver, a bit like at Anfield on Sunday when he was taking off.
Oh come of it, you are telling me he never creates? You are fooling yourself. Most of Citys best passages of play this year have been between him and Silva. I bet Silva would defend Nasri and laugh at most of these comments. He's not who you should be blaming tonight, believe me.

I have to say that given the stop-start inconsistent season we've had, that maybe third or even fourth place is about right. Not that the title is lost yet, but given a mixture of various excuses and reasons, - not least the injuries to Aguero, Kompany, Nastasic and Jovetic, have meant that this team has never quite got settled or 'run-in'. Other challengers have had better luck with injuries.

That said, i think we all know the time has come to freshen things up a little, too many on the gravy train have become accustomed to the salary and having achieved the main objective - CL qualification and progression, which although is success, is not progression enough.

The summer is almost here, and this pre-season, i expect the club to to break up a good part of this squad, with most of the English contingent, either gone, or consigned to loans, and a few more hungrier, younger talents arriving.

I am an older blue, so for me, this season is still a success, but ultimately, i want to see a high quality, dynamic, and ambitious set of players; some on board have maybe lost that spark of ambition, and require a change of scenery, i won't name them, i think we know who they are.
