Sunderland

He's making the right noises.

Be interesting to see how he gets on.

Fingers crossed

Another year or so in the wilderness makes it even harder to get back...
We are currently a good League One team...no more...

I wish I could say we "should get promoted" , but our squad isn't any better than a top 6 or so.
We missed the chance the first year we were in league one...still had some prem players....

Ah well..another dawn....and I'll never ever stop loving the bloody buggers

My second club. Fantastic people up there and tremendous supporters.
Mine as well. I never had a second team until the 2014 final which has to be the friendliest final I’ve ever been to. The night of the final me and a mate were still in the hotel bar at 5am with 7 Mackems and what a fucking ball we had. None of them gave a toss about losing as they said to a better team they just really enjoyed the occasion.
They are at Wembley again and good luck to them.

Year before last I was on National Express bus to Birmingham and noticed a Mackem in a shirt, so at the coffee stop I had a word and he told me he lived in Plymouth but had a S'land season ticket, taking in all home games and most of the aways.

His dad lived in Sunderland so he stayed over and then travelled back the next day. He said he worked at the naval dockyard and could always get someone to swap shifts to fit with the games.

He was loving the times, going to new grounds and loved the craic even though he knew they were crap.

Now that , my friends is being a fan

Not mine; that honour goes to Exeter City, but I have had a soft spot for them since the FA Cup final in 1973:

A fantastic day, as I’m sure @jimharri will agree, and until 2019, my favourite FA Cup final.
