Super Joey Hart?

He was close enough to cut the ball out after a poor touch from Fernando. The rest is just our own interpretation of the rights and wrongs of the situation. I thought it was the wrong pass, others don't. I'm not going to get hung up on it. I've watched it enough since last night to form my opinion, as have you. We obviously disagree.

We do indeed. I normally wouldn't debate an issue as strongly if I could see where the other person is coming from but I find it incredulous that any blame is being apportioned to Hart here, I'm gobsmacked by it.

Hart could see Ibra and fernando. fernando was not expecting the ball. Stupid pass by hart. Why put Fernando under pressure and fernando probably was reassured that he was safe by hart making the pass. 75% bad luck - it still had to rebound into the net. Do that 100 times and it doesn't end up in the net.

It's getting even more bizarre now. Nando wasn't expecting the ball!!!????? He came to the edge of the area to receive the ball for Christ's sake.

See I don't understand how you can be gobsmacked? We conceded, unnecessarily at an important stage of the game. Even if you think it was all on Fernando, I still don't think it was the right pass at the right time.

almost identical to the Demi one in the derby, there must be an element of Joes fault.
Got to be a wind up. Demichelis dallied on the ball, didn't turn out and left it long enough to be put under pressure before laying off a fanny pass back to Hart, who bailed the ever shite Demichelis out again. A

I would attach no blame to Hart on the pass to Nando. Not read earlier pages but I assume plenty have pointed out that short passes like that to guys who will get closed down will be part of Pep's requirements.

If you wanted to be really picky, you could claim Hart should have passed the ball to the other side of Nando so it was easier for Nando to pass to Ota but nothing excuses Nando's woeful control or slow reactions; not that I want to see Nando crucified.

I do wonder whether Hart should have moved back into is goal more quickly rather than standing telling Nando what to do with the ball? However, staying where he was maybe made him a safer option for back pass: more likely to go for a corner than an o.g. if it went wrong.

similar though weren't they? Joe should deffo be doing some work on the training ground with regards to descision making. Obviously didn't help that both times his centre backs have let him down, but it's folly to say it's nothing to do with Joe.

The people blaming Hart are the same ones who moan he just lumps it forwrad. He cant win.

Absolutely not his fault, Fernandos touch and lack of awareness then was the issue. Fernando had a good game after though fair play play to him.

Brilliant penalty save to add to his list.

Another top performance in the big ;eague by Joe. He does love the CL doesnt he.(Needs to stop punching though and start catching)

watch the top teams who play it out from the back (which we have sadly abandoned this and last season) and the amount of room Fernando has here is totally standard, nearly luxurious. We need players who are totally comfortable in this situation. Hart has little to no blame here.
Can't agree. Sure Nando should have done much better but that was a poor option by Joe look carefully and you will see that he fails to see the forward start to move to close down before he passes to Fernando. Given that it was almost half time a hoof would have been better or better still look at the amount of space our fullback has with nobody moving towards him. If Joe decks this and delivers a decent pass in front of his man we are on our way forward. A lot of people on here won't have noticed that but a certain man most likely watching the game down in the South of Germany will have.
