Simple. Just give the try as the infield decision at the end and don’t guess it was held up. The video ref can then look for evidence to possibly disprove a pretty certain try.

Well if he can’t get a clear view, he’s got to guess one way or the other. Not sure why he should assume a try if not sure?

Anyway, was a good game. Could have gone either way. Apart from the ref, the fact England are slightly into things rather than in pre season was possibly the difference.

In a match last year between Saints and Leigh, Asiata put two player out for the season with diving challenges which hit with the shoulder first.

First minute tonight, he does it again (with a flapping arm following to make it look like a hit) and is binned for ten minutes. It was marginally above the knee, but created a scuffle and a video ref review.

Came back on, went off injured after 15 minutes total. No-one seems to know what happened other than it's a knee injury.

It's terrible so far - neither side seems to have a plan or wish to hold the ball.

The days of Huddersfield being everyone’s dark horse of the season tip, seem a very long time ago now.

Battered and nilled by Saints last week. And Wigan threatening to make that look like a close game by comparison here.

Brilliant comeback from Salford too. The real Red Devils. A useless fact but I spend most of my life within an aggregate 2 miles of tonight’s comeback kings. Headingley and Barton.

Hopefully, the bin dippers defeat is a good omen for this weekend.

Leeds with lots of new players and suspensions will take more time to gell. A couple of the signings seem to be very mediocre too. I guess one benefit of having to chop and change the team is that the interchanges have been getting a decent amount of game time. The Leopards injuries are piling up more recently and maybe Leigh’s subs haven’t had the same time on the pitch as Leeds’. It’s just a theory rather than a fact.
