Swansea v City Post Match Discussion Thread

The title is still in our own hands. We all know that Savic is not good enough. The Europa has cost us with both JL and VP knackered by it. Silva has carried the team in YT absence and has a bad ankle so is bound to be flagging. We are having a great season with more to come. We may end up second with a record points total ( just like the Champions League) if all else fails we may yet get to relegate Sparky and Barton on the last day of the season....

Who the fuck cares about "sparky" and Barton.

for me it's all about margins....you can play bad, get outplayed, not be at your best but its the margins that decide games.

We haven't played as well as we did for a while now so its a piss take when people said that theyve not played well but are only 2 points behind etc etc.

They played well, then went off the boil, then got it back together again...of sorts..... but crucially for one reason or another the margins worked for them....last minute goal at Norwich, goal against run of play at Tottenham, right before half time etc.....

We need a bit of luck at the moment and we aint getting it....
Can we please get over this myth that the rags got lucky at Norwich. They didn't get lucky at all; they made it happen, something that we seem incapable of doing. When they're up against it they play the percentages extremely well, knowing that if they bombard the opposition's penalty area with enough crosses they'll eventually get a goal. They could easily have scored 3 or 4 after Norwich scored, so if anything they were actually unlucky!!

Conversely, our persistence yesterday with limp, insipid football played straight down the middle of the pitch was embarrassing. There was no urgency, no pace, no width.....................nothing whatsoever to make Swansea uncomfortable at the back and we got exactly what we deserved.

With a good 40 minutes to go it was clear that this game was getting away from us, yet nothing changed; the lack of any urgency remained exactly the same and it took their goal to kick a bit of life into us, albeit only for 3 or 4 minutes.

We're not going to steamroll every team, so when the game is slowly slipping away from us and we're running out of time, we need to show some more bollocks and be a lot more direct. It might not be pretty but we need to get that ball pinging around the opposition's penatly area a lot more because we're not going to score by knocking the ball around our back line and midfield for minutes at a time without actually going anywhere. We have to make things happen, rather than waiting for them to happen. If we do that, we will still win this league. If we don't, we won't. It's as simple as that.

Come on City!!

Wholeheartedly agree

I am even more pissed off this morning with the shite we were served up yesterday. Have they no fookin desire? No fire in the belly? As for Bob he just seemed fookin clueless in the after match. He certainly was during it!
Just don´t think we´ve got what it takes, the right stuff or whatever to turn it around after 2 woefully pitiful, back to back displays. Sorry, it´s not defeatist it´s what I´ve seen with my own eyes and they don´t deceive me. We weren´t that good against Bolton either! At the moment Arsenal are way better than us and I´m hoping we don´t cock 3rd up the way they did last season
Prove me wrong City - prove to us all how much you want it - that´s all! If it´s not good enough then fair enough but I can´t fookin stomach another 90 minutes like that a la S´land , Evilton, WBA etc. Just have a fookin go all guns blazing and fook the tippy tappy shite around the box looking for the Barca/Hollywood pass. We aint Barca (yet) and it´s the PL not La Liga. Time to wake up to that fact
Get into ´em blues!!

2-0 Swansea,.... thats how far we've slipped. I can't see where a goals coming from. After 70 minutes of crap on Thursday.

Words fail me, the mentality of some of out so called fans! quote...

I reckon he is a rag wum, Damocles can you do some digging? quote.... ManchesterCity

I reckon he needs banning. Incredible attitude to have. quote.... TimmyP

If Joe hadn't have saved the penalty I would have been spot on.

Been a City supporter for 53 years (although new to this forum) seen it all before, lads. Ban me for my opinion if you want.

Not sure if it has been mentioned in the last 63 pages but is it only City that can have the keeper in the opposition box with 15 seconds left then take a short corner!!!

Unbelieveable.
Ha ha. It was a proper WTF moment.

I think we all set really high standards for Silva understandably and today he just did not perform. First time I have seen him misplace so many passes in a match.

Title race far from over blues, onwards and upwards
We've been beaten before this season, but this time it just feels like that's it.

The difference must be because our lead has lasted for so long and now it's gone.

A lot of points to play for, but we have a problem winning away from home and dealing with massed defense so for me the League is over. I am not being defeatist. I am just recognizing facts. For months we've been struggling with teams defending deep away. Are we really going to solve that in the last few weeks of the season?

No,the league is over for me and many others I've spoken to. Today was unacceptable from both management and players.

Well if it's now over for you, and you never fail to remind us, try knitting or yoga, or maybe netball. The 'facts' that you recognise have obviously convinced you, so we won't need any more insightful explanations.

Its funny because in hindsight it probably would have been best for Sinclair to score that penalty. Would have been a kick up the arse for every player.
