Swansea v City Post Match Thread

Excellent performance, but lets face it we just can't consolidate our lead without giving at least one goal away these days.
Might be best for us to continue attacking sensibly from now on when he have a 2 goal lead!

I honestly think the weather had something to do with the 2nd goal

Some very poor performances today, but a great 3 points.

Nasri and kolorov were awful, particularly first half. Their wide men couldn't believe their luck on that side. They just kept running past them.
The amount of times the front two miss controlled it was unreal. Negredo worst game by far. Better play by them and we could have had half a dozen.

The midfield, like at Sunderland, missed silva dreadfully, wouldn't take responsibility and kept taking the safe option. We were better when yaya went into the hole.

But even given all that, we deserved to win and I'm delighted we did. Those players (kolorov aside) won't play as poorly as that very often.

Navas and kompany played well, but Without Kun and silva, all that matters is the points. We are currently picking up wins with absences and without being at our best. We will get better.

Rather harsh that DD, given the conditions and the amount of games

I'm commenting rather than criticising, mate. I felt we were comfortably the better side and if our attackers had been at it we would have been out of sight before half time. They had a reasonable spell before our second but after that there was only one team in it and 3-2 flattered them.

I'm delighted that we are suddenly winning games without hitting top gear, and with major absentees. The early season run of bad luck is over and our best is yet to come.

Great result today under very difficult conditions, against a team clearly capable of playing football.

There were some solid performances and a few ok ones, but again I thought Fern stood out, the man has some engine!

Again we started with 2 up front away from home, against a good team, and although the result is all that matters, what I cannot really understand is why we do this.

It has been written many times by many people, that their choice would be to play an additional MF instead of a striker on games like this, and I also believe that most managers would do this.

Pelle chooses to play 2 up front, which IMHO is very risky, and although it paid off today, it confuses me a little.

So my question is why, what is the rational ? Clearly there must be a very good reason, and as I have never played or coached at a high level, I am hoping some of the more knowledegable guys on this forum can educate me and explain the tactic.

This is not a criticism of Pelle, I would just like to understand better and get others opinions.

Interesting how different people see the game differently. I thought Kolarov and Nasri had great games.
As you say truly amazing
Some saying awful and some saying excellent

Overall not a bad performance. IMO. Think some people are nit picking and would have preferred a loss, so
they could have a real good fucking moan. Sorry this was meant as a post not a quote.

I thought we were average today . We can play a lot better than that . I know the weather didn't help today . Pellergrini needs to start playing 1 striker away from home .

Just got back, knackering day, Sky are bastards for putting us on then, Premier League bastards for thinking Swansea on NYD is anything but unacceptable.

Wasn't a great performance but it seemed a bit better than Palace from the stand, Kolarov was poor and Nasri was pretty anonymous, as was Yaya till he got moved further forward. Negredo had a poor game as well but Dzeko looked pretty good for most of it.

Away end was hampered by a) the walkway between the two sections meaning songs didn't really take off, b) the kick off time and day and c) the god awful weather, horrible, horrible journey back, saw an overturned car on the M5 which looked horrid and it's a relief to be home as much as anything.

That's an equivalent to York away kudos imho, brilliant effort by the Blues who went to get there and hopefully everyone makes it home.

Lets face it, that was a superb 3 pts today against a pretty good side who will give Utd more problems when they play them twice next week. Taking into consideration the poor weather conditions 'for both teams' I thought it was a decent game to watch. Having lost there last season it was a good 3 pts to collect. We are on a fantastic run and another couple of Cup wins this week will just keep building the teams confidence up. All of this without our main striker and the injuries we have had, times are looking good and but the first thing in the Lge is to cement the Top 4 place and push on for the title. CL etc is giving us that missing experience and I don't for a moment think we will win it but you just never know, other teams don't want to draw us as we haven't anything to lose.
