Swansea v City Post Match Thread

3 points job done. We were the better team but we should be taking more of our chances. The Beast was off form today and Dzeko was Dzeko. Navas was dangerous and chased back to help out plenty of times...well played lad. Yaya was a bit off form but Dhino more than made up for it....man of the match by far. Hart did well again apart from flapping at one cross. Komps and Nasty steady. Top of the league for a couple of hours and only one point behind now. Shame the Arse and Chelski won but the rags lost their 4th home game and its only half way through the season. More reasons to be cheerful than not as we're well placed in all 4 competitions. One special mention to the travelling fans today....well done all of you.

So from reading this thread it appears that
Joe Hart was flapping again
Kolarov, Nasri, Dzeko, Negredo and Garcia were awful
Yaya was lazy

but we still managed to win - amazing!

I do think people are missing out on the atrocious weather conditions and also we have done the double on Swansea this season
Atrocious weather conditions!!
I have never been so wet in my life as coming out of that ground and walking to Swansea center, the trains back were all disrupted due to flooding at Newport, we had to go via Bristol instead, iv just got in and taken all my clothes off they are still damp from 3pm
Good day out though and a hard fought win for the lads made it worth it
3pts you cannot ask for any more

I'm commenting rather than criticising, mate. I felt we were comfortably the better side and if our attackers had been at it we would have been out of sight before half time. They had a reasonable spell before our second but after that there was only one team in it and 3-2 flattered them.

I'm delighted that we are suddenly winning games without hitting top gear, and with major absentees. The early season run of bad luck is over and our best is yet to come.

Harsh comments then and describing Nasri as awful is extreme. No he didn't offer much protection to Kolarov at times but he was a useful presence inside so I'd say it was a case of you can't have everything given the team's formations.

I just felt he was pretty poor, ob1, in the main. As you say, he kept letting people run past him and at kolorov, but I also felt he looked for the safe option all the time instead of passing into dangerous areas. Yaya was just as culpable- it was like Sunderland where we kept going square or backwards in Silva's absense. Both got better as the game went on and space opened up in their half, so maybe 'awful' was harsh.

I'm just trying to say that we were the better team despite a number of poor performances from attacking players. Negredo was another, and dzeko not much better. Navas was superb, though. Not only is he a threat, but he wins us a load of corners, and we are really dangerous from them. And he hassles back superbly.

There were plenty of sideways passes but maybe that reflects good defensive work by Swans. Those passes didn't frustrate me and at least they almost always found a City player. TBH, I rather enjoy it when Fern, Yaya and Nasri play those little triangles in the middle even if they don't always go anywhere.

I agree about Dzeko, Negredo and Navas, who was mt MotM.

Not so sure Hart was flapping again in my opinion. The weather was awful and he must only have limited sight out of his eye withh all that wind and rain. I thought Pants might have started today because of that tbh. Great win 3 points we move onto the next game!!
