If SWP loved the club that much he should have waited at least till the end of the season. His gobshite of a dad calling the club will not do him any favours, if we give a new contract now the board will look weak.
The timing of this is very sly, we are fighting for a 4th spot and need unity, a good display for England and he/ they feeel they can put pressure on for a new contract and put it in the public domain. I dont like it.

I personally don't blame SWP for wanting to better his contract as it's something we would all do if given the chance.
I do blame his agent and his advisors though on the way they have gone about it, like back in Jan when they leaked that Barca was interested in him to try and force City's hand on a contract? ffs

Carry on giving your all SWP and get us into that 4th spot and have a good World Cup and it'll be City wanting you to sign a new contract not the other way around.

No problem at all with a player looking for a new contract or more money. What is unforgivable is doing it through the media. SwP knows, as does Ian Wright, that the media love nothing more than creating trouble for us so to throw petrol on the flames at one of the most crucial times in the club's history when there is absolutely no need to is disloyal and self-serving. SWP has said nothing wrong in that artical he just wants a longer deal to finish his carer with us and he's worried as things seem to be up in the air atm since the new manager came in.

Do the Bluemoon Cabal see this latest destabilisation as an intended or unintended consequence of their preparations for the Special One's arrival? I also wonder if they're eating locusts and wild honey yet as they prepare the way?

If he's complaining about only being offered £70,000 a week and complaining about it maybe he should think if he's worth it. City are now at the stage where there is no need to over pay players dramatically, I think Viera and Johnson are only on contracts work £30,000 a week, if you saying on current performances Johnson is half the player of SWP, then I think you need to take a long hard look at yourself Shauny and buck up your game rather than crying to the media.
