Instead of arguing your point, it's easier just to act aggressively, threatening, calling anyone differing to your viewpoint a ****... but on here that doesn't work.

sorry but he should be getting at least the same as what ireland is on. He is well within his rights to ask for a payrise but surely this isn't the way to go about it, stinks a bit of daniel sturridge-esque drama.

Look at petrov, been injured but has contributed just as much as shauny has this season and kept his gob shut. His contract is up in a few months but you dont see him giving it the big one to the media. Shaun needs to get his head down and save these issues for the close season, we don't need distractions or a divisive player. Drop him now next game as punishment.

Over the next few years City will be buying some of the very best players out there. Just a question: in one, two or three years time will SWP be our first choice right winger?

If the answer is no, then this means we are effectively giving an extension, of anything up to 4 years, for a second choice, or, depending on the progress of some of our young players, third choice player.

I think Cook and Marwood have got this spot on. If we are indeed going to be buying some of the best, then why would we even consider giving a five year deal to somebody who may find they don't even make the bench in 18 months time?

SWP is being very naive i think. He wants a 5-year contract and yet i'd guess anybody in football can see that in 2 to 3 years time Man City expect to spend very big on improvements and hope to be fighting for honours on all fronts. Why would they want somebody in their 30's sat on say 80 grand a week who in all likelyhood won't be good enough to get in the team. He is now but i'd be very surprised if he will be in 2 to 3 years time never mind 5. Typical footballer who is only willing to see things from his own perspective. I'm sure he's annoyed to see players like Adebayor and Toure earning twice the money but they had to be persuaded to come and give up Champions League while SWP was already there. No doubt his old man is giving him some very poor advice as usual.
