What I liked about SWP was that he was released by Forest and when he first started to come through at city I was by no means convinced he'd make it at our club, even in the league we were in, but he gradually found his feet (remember he used to play RB!) and when he started adding goals to his game (he used to do everything but score for a long period) he became a very good player. Loved his attitude and work rate and there is no doubt he loved the club and regretted leaving for Chelsea- not legend in the true sense of the word but he'll always be welcome at city and get a clap from me.

He was told he had to go to Chelsea to save the club. He didn't want to go

I used to really love watching him. He was the highlight of some shit times in the early days at Eastlands. Never the same after he came back from Chelsea but then I've always believed that Mourinho turned him into a more cynical player. He was always trying to win free kicks after his return when before, he'd have stayed on his feet and carried on.
