We are basically being bought by the adu dhabi government

The wise leaders of that country have no doubt sanctioned the deal if not exactly signed the cheque. I heard a figure of £120 million mentioned which clears most of our debts.
It's great news, but we'll have to wait and see how much new investment is made. If the stated top 4 ambition for this season is real, then we won't have to wait very long - expect a few big names in today.
Anyone know anything about the human rights record, situation on democracy, corruption etc.etc. on the wise leaders of that great country?

d b how much are these people really worth?

Very. Al Fahim is a billionaire property developer in his own right. However, I don't think this is an investment by his company. I get the impression he's representing an AD-government-backed company. And they're many times richer than he is.

In your opinion Dubai Blue are these people going to use City as a play thing by pumping a few hundred million in and bugger to the cost or will they be looking for some type of return be it long or short term?

from reading DB's posts and others, these guys just pump the money in and hope for a financial return sometime in the future, but they want to be seen as having only the best assets, so I can see a lot of investment!

Just put tv on SSN, took me by suprise about the takeover. Apparrently we are looking at a top four finish. Bet Hughes as got a bigger smile on today.

If you saw the sort of construction underway over here, you'd realise that short-term financial returns aren't top of their priorities. They build the biggest and the best in the hope that that will attract people and investment, thus generating returns in the long term. They want to prepare their economies for when the oil runs out, so they're planning for the future.

They need City to be successful for this to be in any way worthwhile. IMO, they will be looking for success not financial returns. Having said that, I wouldn't want us to go the full way down the Chelsea path

i bet he fookin hasnt, being told top 4 finish on the last day of transfer deadline isnt ideal, the pressure will build, being realistic top 6 this year then next year push for top 4
