Worthy winner overall Sabalenka, winning against an opponent and a crowd tonight.

Anisimova spoke so, so well at the end, I hope she goes on and wins her own grand slam, she deserves it.

Problem today looked like she was too inconsistent, it’s almost like in some senses she lost that match rather than Aryna won it, because at times her unforced errors just started to happen in quick succession.
 
Sabalenka wins it.

What a unit. I wouldn't fancy a square-go with her.

Good to see Osaka back. She's super talented. Possibly would have been the dominant female of this era had she stayed on course. It was looking that way 5 years ago. If she keeps on track, she can definitely be up there again.

Personally I think there is a problem in football but cycling is the whipping sport on this subject.

Leicester City for example when they won the league. The running states etc the season before and season after have no compression to the winning season. Very odd.
Liverpool to the ability to run like headless chickens for two seasons than drop like a stone on the 3rd season.

It's rife in all sports

The people who supply the best and newest PED's openly tell you they are ahead of the testing and the testing is always playing catch up.

If you have the big money, you can afford these doctors and there's less chance of being caught unless your cycle has been messed up and the testers have caught up


Look at the Jamaican sprint teams, they completely dominated for a bit around the when Bolt was around. There was very little testing inside Jamaica at the time, even by the testing organisations, they didn't go there to test. So they were cycling all kinds of PED's. Their absolute dominance ended when they started getting stricter with testing over there.

I was about to say that. It looks like no-one has been let in yet - no chance they're going to be all inside in 35 minutes for when the players arrive.

Hope I'm wrong but it looks like it's going the way of the Wimbledon final.
Alcaraz starts hot but fades quickly.
