Tevez For Eto'o...Straight Swap?

Drogba spent quite a while in the premiership. He is indeed unique.

The rest is, I'm afraid, bollocks. I am talking about Et'o, he's obviously past his due date. The only way is down, while it's quite different for the current City strikers.

I am not saying he's a bad striker, just that he's not as good as he used to be and cannot really be compared to Dzeko, Balo and Aguero. Their average age is, what, 23?

I'm sorry but he just completed (individually) his most successful season of his entire career with 37 goals (the most he has ever scored in a single season) and 15 assists (the most he has ever assisted in a single season), he is as good as ever and is showing no sign of decline. Turning 30 doesn't = The End, especially for a physical freak like Eto'o who is still fast and has excellent movement, not to mention he is one of the most clinical strikers in the world.

This Eto'o we are talking about ??

Arf !! at some on here tonight...
Eto'o Balo Dzeko Aguero.. even Barca would take notice.

The permutations all point to awesome strike pairings !!

Eto'o is a class act. Edin, Mario and Kun will become much better players if they have the experience of playing with Eto'o for three seasons. In particular, aside from Roberto, there is no-one who could be a better influence on Mario.

Some posters do not appear willing to accept the possibility that we may not be able to sell Tevez for cash or swap him for Sneijder. A swap for Eto'o may be the only option. And the choice between that and keeping Tevez is a no-brainer!

Look, Roger Milla scored his WC goal and became the oldest WC goalscorer ever aged 42, he was a sensation during WC1990 at 38. That's not the point, though. Eto isn't Milla, a very late bloomer. Inter's entire play is based around Eto', even i would probably score at least 15.

As an individual he's past his due date, and feel free to disagree as much as you want. I am not knocking his career as a whole either.

IMHO I think he can teach our very young strike force a thing or two while assisting and banging them in for fun(would make a great future coach)

I am as far from being a Tevez lover as you can get, but if Eto'o is indeed the only option, I say keep Tevez.

I agree with every word of this. With Eto'o we would win the league and threaten in the CL

Sorry but no - as an individual he is as good as ever with outstanding workrate. He showed under Mourinho he can play almost anywhere and Mourinho liked to play him wide and he was still Inter's most dangerous goal threat. Mourinho even played him in a more defensive role in some matches I recall and he was still good. His versatility would be perfect for us as he could play Balo's role, Dzeko's role, and even on the right.

I'm not saying we should or should not sign him, only the manager knows what we need, but if we did sign him - he remains a thoroughly world class striker.
