Remember when Labour "buried" their bad news on 9/11 because they knew it wouldnt get a mention because of other events?

Garry Cook is a master of marketing and brand awareness. If we announced the signing of Tevez yesterday or today, it would run behind the Kaka story and wouldn't get the coverage it deserves.

Let the dust settle on Kaka and then announce the Tevez signing and so get a lot more coverage and positive press for the MCFC brand worldwide.

A friend of mine who has good links with the club told me that this is indeed what is going to happen. He told me the Tevez deal is nailed on but that the Kaka deal has thrown the timing out by a day or two.

Maybe i'm missing something here but WTF exactly does the Kaka deal have to do with the timing of us signing Wolfboy?
Or can only one player sign for a club per day nowadays?
Screw Madrid - why should we give a flying one about who they sign or stealing their thunder?

Because stealing clubs thunder raises our profile. It makes us the headliners rather than the undercard....which is what we would have been had we announced it yesterday or today.

You are missing something.

How can you not see that the world record signing of one of the worlds best players to argubly the worlds most famous club is not the best time for City to announce the signing of Carlos Tevez?

A 'big' name in his own right, annoucing it now will not give the full effect we want when looking to build awareness of our club both domestically and internationally. We want our news to be headline news, talked about by everyone, not second fiddle.

Exactly. The Tevez rumour is getting practically the same coverage as Kaka now. Its a bigger story than alot of people are giving credit for. The only people trying to play it down are rags. Its an incredible story. If he signs it would blow up everywhere. Not point delaying an announcement at all.

Even if its not done, something happened yesterday for it to explode in the way it did.

Why is KAKA still been mention like the above post feck him we've got Superman who to me is much better for the team as a whole anyway, could you see kaka losing the ball on the edge of the opponents box and tracking back to put the tackle in to get it back, thats what we get with stevie! He's absolute class and his link up play with robbie will only get better n better! bring on next season it's going to be awesome.

Not far wrong imo. Kaka's long distance shooting is better than Ireland's & he has the edge on running with the ball but imo Ireland is as good or better at every other aspect of the game.
