There's a difference between handing in a transfer request and refusing to play. Have you never handed in your notice at work if you're not happy with the company you're working for or do you go in, sit there and refuse to do your job? The second is gross misconduct and you're fired for being a ****. This is the real world.

Ah, so you're changing your argument now!

Before it was "No one would get away with what Tevez has done..." now it's... "he only asked for a transfer".

FFS.

Rooney publicly humiliated the rags far more than Tevez did. He accused them of lacking ambition! That's just about the worst thing you could say about that mob!

And one final point, you keep mentioneing "refusing to play".

Where are you getting this info from? If I remember correctly, he was found not guilty of refusing to play.

Or were you still on that desert island at the time?

You can't compare Rooney with Tevez.

What Rooney did was (with some justification) question the rags signings and ambitions.

Tevez did the one thing I never thought I'd a City player do - refuse to play. And in front of the worlds media.

He's a ****. He lies about us, he slags our club and our city off and he refuses to play for us. He's dragged our name through the mud.

I'll lose a lot of respect for City, and the owners if this vile little shit is allowed to play for us again, and I really don't give a shite if we lose out on the League as a direct result of it - although we've ok so far without the prick.

We've waited long enough to win it, another year won't bother me.

Evidence?

Or are you just making this up to suit your agenda?

Do me a favour Kia....

Ah, so you're struggling to find the evidence?

As Wyatt Earp once paraphrased... "If it's a choice between the facts and the story, print the story..."

By refusing to warm up by the manager,he,s refusing to play.

Not true.

Another one washed ashore on a desert island while the disciplinary hearing was concluded.

Evidence?

Did I dream about that night in Munich then?

He refused to warm up, and to play. You know it, I know it, the fucking whole world knows it. And yet you deny it happened??

I'm amazed there are City fans still defending him.

He will never play for City again, move on.

Soulboy, in his usual direct manner :-) makes some good points and it’s difficult to argue against what is in effect the reality of the situation.

As much as it grieves me and with no small amount of somewhat foolish pride, we are in a difficult position here. If he returns and proves his fitness we cannot just simply refuse to play him as he is a contracted player for us who we have already disciplined.

A win-win (however bitter a taste it leaves in one’s mouth) is that we play him, he does what he is good at, scores goals and probably links up well with Aguero in the process and........ we win this fooking league??

His value remains intact as a result and we then move him on in the summer....... at a realistic value!! And we in turn move forward, onwards and upwards without him and consign the little shit to our history...

The truth of the matter is that we really don’t have a choice if he returns and makes himself available, hence his inclusion in the squad which is a good move on the clubs behalf.

I can feel that you are struggling with this!

He was found NOT GUILTY. That's the facts. You can have any opinion you like, you can know, the whole world can know it... but Manchester City FC never foiund him guilty of refusing to play.

So, yes, you may have seen what you thought happened in Munich, but that's not what he's been found guilty of.

It's okay, a lot of people struggle trying to separate facts from dreams.

-- Fri Feb 03, 2012 4:13 pm --

You are either on a wind-up or you are clueless. I am still pondering which one as I type...

The rags wouldn't be spineless enough to let a player let their club and supporters down? Have you been on a desert island these past 15 months? Rooney publicly criticised the manager and the club, accused them of lacking ambition, demanded a transfer and totally humiliated the club in the process.

Baconface washed his hands off him the following day, the rags support protested publicly at his behaviour, every messageboard and phone-in was full of how much they hated him and would never be forgiven. There were banners at the next match accusing Rooney of being a whore.

Like a sheep convention, they all bellowed the same mantra... Fergie wouldn't stand for it.

Two days later Rooney signed a new contract, Fergie hugged him, the fans welcomed him back like a returning hero... and all talk of him being a whore never happened.

As they picked up the Premiership trophy, his name was chanted with much joy.

And you think City should pass up on success just because a player acts like an arsehole?

Welcome to the real world.

Same argument. Rooney - transfer request, Tevez - refused to play/warm up whatever. There's a way back from handing in a transfer request. There shouldn't be from refusing to play/warm up. I can't believe he's still here and like someone says, it tarnishes the FA Cup win seeing that twat holding the trophy instead of Vinnie. He wouldn't even put a City scarf on.
