Tevez to return (Merged)

Absolute rubbish, the club has handled this in the best possible manner possible. Maybe you could give a better course of action the club should have taken ?

Taking into account here principle of not letting players walk all over the club and his market value sliding etc.

The precedent we have set has saved us a lot in more ways than the value lost of Tevez which we could never have stopped.

So this masterplan of yours then... ?

Mancini interview on ssn shortly.
They're quoting him as saying "he won't speak on this again for next 3 months"

Nor ever again, I imagine. Tevez has treated him like a lamp post.
That was the impression I got.
I'm sure some of the body language experts maybe able to gives a more detailed appraisal.

It might not have particularly damaged us quite yet however it's very naive to think that the "Carlos show" hasn't got the potential to impact upon the manager and squad as being a huge distraction - players questioning whether the manager is being undermined is not healthy in any way, shape or form.

Financially there is an element of impact as there is no denying his value is dropping which in the realms of FFPR certainly isn't good news - I can't see anyone stumping up the £25mil we said we want in the summer after that fucking interview the other day.

It's certainly not the end of the world but it isn't good - the biggest issue for me that this is proving is that it's fucking ridiculous that we haven't got a CEO in place as yet, utter fucking madness.

The mans a lunatic, but the whole sorry mess has been shambolically handled. Someone needs to take control. Where's khaldoon?

I don't really see what City could have done differently that would have made anything better ...
It's been out of control since that night in Munich. Tevez is clearly a disrespectful tool. But it's all too public, everyones a loser. Someone should have taken hold of the whole thing a long time ago. We can all say 'the club couldn't have done anything else' and all that loyalist stuff. But it's a fucking mess, a costly mess we really don't need right now.

There are a whole series of steps here which have led us to qhere we are. He should have been sold in the summer. We should have brushed it under the carpet straight after the game. Someone should have sat all parties down and thrashed out some sort of a deal before he fucked off to Argentina. He should have been sold in jan.

The while thing smacks of lack of leadership . Clearly tevez is a dangerous loose cannon. Someone should have taken control for everyones sake. I know you all like to call KIA 'the snake' but he's a clever man and a pragmatic solution could have been worked out somewhere for everyones sake.

It's a mess and all parties are damaged by the way this is playing out
Bemusing, to say the least.

Say we get £20m for him, add to that the £10m in fines and it's still a profit for FFP by quite a margin with amortisation.

As for the distraction, surely the original Munich incident was more like to affect us and we went on a storming run of form did we not?

Exactly. There's as much chance, if not more, that this will galvanise us.

Has Mancini been on SSN yet?

Oh and I agree with Damocles. We are not weakened by this, other than not having a 4th striker available.
He has mate.
He said he'd not treated him like a dog ,he'd been too soft on Tevez if anything and he won't be speaking on it again in the next 3 months.

How are City damaged by refusing to pay and refusing to sell below market value a player viewed as a petulant child?

You're really gonna have to explain that one out for me
How are city damaged? Because his Market value is dropping like a stone and we aren't playing him. Would you like me to do the maths for you? I'd say it's cost us £10-20m already. Thank god he did a bunk or it could be more. Oh , and did I mention the fact that he could be training with the kids in front of all his mates at carrington? Yeah, just what we need in a title run in.

All parties have lost out here . That's the truth.

Every player in the squad is worth less than they were last year. This is the nature of a fixed term contract and the transfer system which we have.

Not entirely sure you're right there mate. I seem to remember some weird looking Portusgese bloke signing for the scum for around £12m and being sold to Real for about £80m.

You never seem to account for the fact that one of the parties involved is from all appearances an irrational actor. I would bet you real money a deal had been worked out and that's why he was coming back and then he goes and gives that interview. Just watching Kia's reaction, you could tell he wasn't pleased either.
I keep saying the man is a lunatic , a dick. He started the whole sorry mess, don't get me wrong. He cannot disrespect his manager like he did publically for 12 months. But city have not handled it well from start to
Finish. In fact there is no finish . The balls in our court now. I want us to sort this out once and for all.
I know you realize he's a lunatic, but you don't seem to take that into account at times. He's like this girl I used to date. She was absolutely stunning and she was a lot of fun, but there were times she just wanted drama and honestly... nothing I or anyone else could do or say would stop that drama. It's likely the only way this was going to be avoided was to not get into bed with him in the first place, but we needed him. Now we take our lumps.
