Tevez to return (Merged)

The more I hear and read from Mancini the more I think he's paving the way and preparing us for Tevez to play again.

I'll support whatever decision Mancini makes.

That's what I was thinking too.

We are TOP OF THE LEAGUE without Tevez.

We have been TOP OF THE LEAGUE without Tevez for most of the season.

We have Yaya, Kolo, Balotelli coming back to the fold with us still TOP OF THE LEAGUE.

We do not need Tevez to be TOP OF THE LEAGUE and we will probably win the Premier League without Tevez.

WITH HIM, we may not.

Use your brain cells to work out why.

Tevez should release a statement saying....

" looking back at Munich makes me embarrassed and the way I reacted was a disgrace and I apologise to Mancini my team mates and especially the fans who I let Down"

Hopefully I'll get another chance at this great club to put right the wrong and help mcfc win the title...

Would something like this appease us as fans or would it be to little to late?

My own thoughts are if he comes back and contributes to us winning the league it's all good, but can't see him apologising he's to proud...

I just feel so tired of this situation now.

On the night in Munich, i was fuming, i never wanted to see him in the blue shirt again.

But time is a great healer, i mean he is a world class striker and we look a little blunt up front at the moment, we need someone who is direct like Tevez who will lash home a shot at the end of the build up play.

I think the best situation now will be if Tevez issues a public apology, gets back to match fitness and plays his heart out if he get's the oppurtunity, plus that will mean we can command a decent transfer fee for him.

What with him, Balotelli, Kolo and Yaya coming back i feel really positive about us winning the league!

You have hit the nail on the head (get back to match fitness). Unfortunately as we have seen when he has returned from the relativity short summer hols he came back with a few extra pounds, so god knows what he will be like after so long. It may take to the end of the season to get him fit, so don't expect him to play this season.

He's a world class player who almost single handedly dragged us from mid-table into the top 4. Our forwards aren't exactly banging them in recently, they have been struggling as of late. His emotions towards Tevez are understandable.
Yeah, Yaya, Silva, Kompany, Hart etc. had nothing to do with it... It's amazing how well our one-man team has done without him this season. As I predicted, I said we'd done fine without him this season and low and behold we have done. Some of the people here would have been with Merson in saying we'd finish lower than third without Tevez. You've been proven wrong, accept it.

I hate him for what hes done but that is absolute shite. You take any one of the players you mentioned out of the team in the previous season or 2 and we could possibly still have taken the leap from mid table - champions league. You take Tevez out and there is no way we would of.

Tevez scored 50 odd goals in 2 seasons in a side that was set up primarily to defend. None of our current strikers would reach the 20 goal mark if we played the way we did last 2 seasons. Thats not a criticism of Mancinis tactics, because we werent a negative boring team like the media made out, just more emphasis on defending. Having learnt to do that, this season Mancini has gone for it in every game.

Merson has been proven wrong, undoubtedly. We no longer rely on Tevez and we are 2 points clear. However, every city fan with half an idea about football would have to concede that a commited Carlos Tevez would score absolute hat fulls in our current set up. And had he bided his time, not spat his dummy out in munich and just waited for the Aguero/ Dzeko purple patch to end, he would currently be first choice striker and we would have a lead similar to that Madrid have in la liga. The premiership would be virtually won.

IF Mancini and the players are prepared to accept him back, and (big) IF Tevez wants to come back and play football for us rather than sulk n pick up his wages, then we are getting one of the best players in the world back into what is already a very good squad. Tevez at his best til the end of the season wins us this premier league.
Apart from the fact that the statistics of games with and without him indicate our record is only five points and three goals difference over a season, which would have gotten us Champions League football.

I think we are a better team side now, and better teams score more goals and rely less on individuals, and look we are doing... Strange how we didn't win it with him last season then isn't it. All our major players were here last season apart from Aguero who was Tevez's replacement. But we're doing better this season... Expecting to here some bollocks like Mancini's taken the shackles off or something.

Or he upsets the balance of the squad and the style of play as Rodney Marsh did in 72.

fuck him and let him rot, how long before he starts again moaning and spiting his dummy out my guess with 4 games to go then he feeds the media and upsets the side and we lose the title sorry carlos its your hole now go and jump inside

every match he plays will be like a job interview for his next team...there's no way he's going to come out and half-ass it. he'd just be making it even harder to move on. so, i think it's pretty much a given that his effort will be there. he's getting paid, so he might as well serve a purpose. no, he shouldn't be the cornerstone of our attack, but if he can sub on and be a game changer, why not? we're still going to try to sell him in the summer. everybody knows he's a piece of shit, but he's a talented piece of shit. get some use out of him, sell him, and then lets move on...
