Tevez transfer thread

Re: Tevez - AC/Inter/PSG

Come on City, I know we do not want to be seen as a soft touch, but lets get rid of the evil dwarf and move on, if the last post is true and Inter have raised their bid, snap their hands off

Hope this is true. Even if it isn't, our reported valuation and Inter's opening gambit aren't a million miles apart and with a full 2 weeks of the transfer window still to go I'd expect both clubs to reach some common ground in the coming days.

I also suspect that our relationship with Inter is quite healthy, given our previous dealings with them when buying Balotelli and Mancini's links with them. Despite that, I think we're right to reject their opening bid given that PSG are sniffing in the background. Whether Tevez could be persuaded that Inter and PSG represent acceptable alternatives to AC is another thing of course but both clubs carry a lot of clout so maybe he will consider a move to either after all.

As much as I'd like to see the back of Tevez, and quickly, I'd still would like a fair price for him, maybe we can get between 25-30million, I know thats a big if??, but I would not be budging from this asking price, especially with the way AC Milan expected us to roll over and let Tevez go for next to nothing...........

Why does it matter to you? I think 10m is very, very small potatoes to the owners, so dont lose sleep over it. The main thing is keeping our squad within legal limits of 'fair play'.

Depends on PSG's position perhaps? If they're not interested then I'd get the deal done with Inter - after all, they've met us halfway which is fair enough.

Oh, and get Jordan Rhodes in as 4th striker ;)

An excellent interview with Denis Tueart on TalkSport (about last night). In particular, EVERY City fan should talke note of what Tueart said about Tevez:

“Man City are trying to lay down a marker,” Tueart told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast. “They’re trying to show that players can’t come in, get massive contracts and then use the club to get another move.

“I’d like to listen to what his advisors have been telling him because they must take overall responsible for this.

“It’s the implications [of the move]. If we let Tevez go at a bargain basement price then that sends a message out to all players who come into the Premier League.

“Just because the money is here, they come and promise the world, clubs give them fantastic contracts and then they decide to go when they please, leaving the club with a devalued asset. City are trying to send a message that this isn’t right.”

As far as I am concerned, EVERY (genuine) bluemooner should accept and respect what City are doing.

Ok - let´s say we get it up to 25 I think that´s the most we´ll get. He ain´t going to PSG as much as we would like it. The savings on wages are more than adequate
Should we twist for another 2m?
I´ll leave that to Khaldoon and his team

Re: Tevez - AC/Inter/PSG

I think we will get the 25m we are asking, if Tevez turns arounds and says i wouldnt mind going PSG, thats when Inter will max their bid out to grab him.. i really do not want this to go on until deadline day ... i want De Rossi!!

I heard the interview on the radio this morning and have total respect for Tueart and the message he delivered....I totally support the club on their firm stance over herman.
