A couple of years back, I went through a real messy break-up with my first 'real' love (think cheating with two other guys). Some of it I shared here, too. So I've been in your position.

I was friends with my ex for a while. After we broke up, we had a love-hate-love-hate sort of deal where we would be best mates and then feud for months. But trust me, you have to cut her out of your life.

Why?

Because if you don't, and you try to stay 'friends', you do what I did — not commit to another relationship and don't meet new people because you're holding on to the 0.00001% chance that you and the ex will get back together someday. I missed some great opportunities and fucked around some really nice girls because I did exactly this.

For your own sake (and that of the next Mrs. MCFCBob), you need a clean break.
