It's ridiculous that they didn't show the Men's 100m finals live here in USA.
WHAT?! You're talking about a World Cup Final/Super Bowl level of event, and they didn't show it live?

$$$$$$

Everything is about NBC and their money. It was so bad that they actually didn't show a Russian girl falling on tape delay so they could still play up the "will they or won't they win the gold" angle last week. They also edited out the tribute to the victims of terrorism in England during the opening ceremonies to show an interview with Michael Phelps.
We only get ESPN over here. Didn't realise the issues with NBC.

they spoke about it on the channel I am watching on.

Don't think it's been mentioned on BBC.

Nasty trick. Could've caused a false start and DQ.
I was watching on Dutch TV. A Dutch judo lady was standing behind the guy who threw the bottle. She spoke about it on TV. She said she punched the guy and missed the race because of her anger towards him...she sounded well gutted about missing the race.

She also said the guy looked drunk and was aiming for Bolt. He was swearing at Bolt constantly before the start.

Re: The 2012 Olympics Thread (5th August, Page 131)

Only just got in from a long day, after running myself, caught all the big events during work tonight, will try and get the schedule up before tomorrow morning.

Oh and Bolt was unbelievable, dealt with 4 of the fastest men in history, will definitely go down as the greatest sprinter ever after brushing off his doubters tonight.

Great day for GB, the one time i've found myself happy for Murray. Great day.

Gutted that Tyson Gay didn't get 3rd

Would have been good if Poweel didn't pull up, all 8 men under 10 seconds would have been special

I met Gay last week when i went to the stadium. Was a great guy, knew he couldn't win last night but really wanted him to medal, he has worked so hard all his career and is the second fastest man ever. He just seems to slow up when it really matters

-- Mon Aug 06, 2012 7:33 am --

Feel sorry for Gay. Gatlin shouldn't even be there the bloody cheat.
He served his time.

He without sin cast the first stone and all that.

Quoting the bible. I just chocked on my muesli

Why is it all sprinters are massive arrogant twats?

Some of the shit Usain Bolt does just makes me cringe.
It is a bit embarrassing to watch, all that posturing and preening. Watch a recording of the reactions of Ennis, Farah and Rutherford last night for the way to conduct yourself after winning the gold medal, not a semi final
Bolt suffered with ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) as a child. Cricket was Bolt's first love but athletics was Bolt's father's way of trying to get Usain to burn up the over abundance of energy he possessed.

He comes from a poor background & carries the hopes & dreams of a nation of 2.7 million people on his shoulders . He's said many times in the past that he wants to retire as early as possible because he struggles to cope with the demands & expectations heaped on him.

The antics that he displays before running are just his way of coping with the pressure of competition & he has ALWAYS behaved the same even as a junior. When you say 'ALL' sprinters what you need to understand is the cultural differences between Americans, West Indians & the British. The British are renowned for their reserved demeanour whilst the Americans & Jamaicans in particular are known for their demonstrative nature. Please don't take what comes to them naturally as 'arrogance' because all you are showing is your ignorance of the cultural nature of the world's fastest men.......
