Why is it all sprinters are massive arrogant twats?

Some of the shit Usain Bolt does just makes me cringe.

It is a bit embarrassing to watch, all that posturing and preening. Watch a recording of the reactions of Ennis, Farah and Rutherford last night for the way to conduct yourself after winning the gold medal, not a semi final

Bolt suffered with ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) as a child. Cricket was Bolt's first love but athletics was Bolt's father's way of trying to get Usain to burn up the over abundance of energy he possessed.

He comes from a poor background & carries the hopes & dreams of a nation of 2.7 million people on his shoulders . He's said many times in the past that he wants to retire as early as possible because he struggles to cope with the demands & expectations heaped on him.

The antics that he displays before running are just his way of coping with the pressure of competition & he has ALWAYS behaved the same even as a junior. When you say 'ALL' sprinters what you need to understand is the cultural differences between Americans, West Indians & the British. The British are renowned for their reserved demeanour whilst the Americans & Jamaicans in particular are known for their demonstrative nature. Please don't take what comes to them naturally as 'arrogance' because all you are showing is your ignorance of the cultural nature of the world's fastest men.......

The show, that is made around the 100 m race by the media and the athletes, differs really from all other events (and some of them include jamaicans too). It´s too big me for me. There are so many other great sportsmen and women around at the olympics.

I say that as a reserved Englishman, it's in my nature to say such things and I was brought up that way. By having a go, at English people, on an English based forum, with a reserved mentality, you are showing your ignorance of the English culture.

But isn't ADHD made up?

No, I have a friend whose son was diagnosed with this 20-odd years ago & she went through hell trying to cope with him & ADHD. The schools didn't want him & just though he disruptive & attention seeking which are classic signs. It was only after his diagnosis & subsequent treatment that he managed to control his condition.

He still suffers badly with it but like Bolt he now throws all his spare energy into sport & is successfully holding down a career as a computer networking engineer. He must be an employers dream because everything he does apparently he does to excess & at speed, but at least he's now making a valued contribution to society not unlike Bolt...

It's ridiculous that they didn't show the Men's 100m finals live here in USA.

WHAT?! You're talking about a World Cup Final/Super Bowl level of event, and they didn't show it live?

Everything is about NBC and their money. It was so bad that they actually didn't show a Russian girl falling on tape delay so they could still play up the "will they or won't they win the gold" angle last week. They also edited out the tribute to the victims of terrorism in England during the opening ceremonies to show an interview with Michael Phelps.

I've given up watching NBC. I am watching the bbc's coverage through a vpn on my computer. I hope this is the last time Nbc have the rights to the Olympics - its been a disgrace.

Did anyone else find it quite nice to see Gemili on the start line for the 100M. Seemed pleased to be there and just took it all in. Big future for him in athletics, sub 10 will come within a year i reckon.
