He loved us when his buddy was here. As soon as Mancini was sacked he changed his tune. His hatred stems from that, he's too childish to get over the fact that we sacked his bff.
That clip made him look like a right twat. Keown's professional approach, calm and assured, showed Savage up for the petty little amateur that he is.
It's not just that he's bitter and dislikes us, it's that he seems mentally incapable of arguing properly. He just shouts over people, repeats himself and pretends that all the arguaments against his nonsense are irrelevant. He seems incpable of actually explaining how he's come to his opinion, the closest he came on that example was that "they've done loads of pieces on City's bad defending on MOTD". He's mentally deficient.

It all kicked off the night before with this City caller on 606, it's around 44 min 38 secs.

She really had Savage on the ropes.

she comes up with good arguments and he's an arrogant twat with her

I am sure most claiming an agenda are doing it very much tongue in cheek, but I do fear one or two fans are genuinely paranoid enough to believe there is a master plan probably involving aliens out there planning to get City!

There is no agenda , there is just some average journalists out there who realise theyske more money (which is their job) playing to their readership which is made up of a lot of armchair rags, mickeys and gooners. These armchair clowns are desperate for us to fail so when we give a chance or when's situation allows journalists to write a story their readers want to read they do it. They are not paid for brilliant incite full pieces or neutrality they are paid to give what their readers want.

I have always found the victim mentality to be a Scouse mentality and I have always found the there is an agenda mentality to be distictly Raggish - ie they would win everything always if there wasn't an agenda against them.

Personally I wish this would be the last post in this thread as the agenda thread makes me cringe and just makes us look stupid , small time, over sensitive and paranoid!

naive to a fault.

the press just happen to take the lead from the powers that be.

Excellent points Chris, but how on earth did you manage to listen to that screechy harridan without putting your foot through the tele?

She's a Liverpool fan, based in Fulham, and a regular on the Times podcast, something i usually download unless aforementioned Alyson is on
I thought she was being dry and sarcastic. If you watched the rest of the show she was Uber sarcastic. I liked her approach. For a Liverpool fan she gave grief to Brendan big time. She also felt Bale was just what united needed (another striker) etc

I didn't think she was being sarcastic, ironic, tongue in cheek or whatever. But even if she was, it was a dry reference to an attitude that she obviously thinks exists elsewhere. The point remains the same whether she holds the opinion herself or not.
And that is news to you. Quelle surprise.
Don't want to defend her too much as it is first time I have seen her but some folks on here are seeing any negative about city as agenda based.

so why in god's name did you quote my post, as it was nothing at all about an agenda, and only about the fact that the woman has a seriously whiny tone that makes me want to switch her off?

or do you just assume people are making agenda posts without you bothering to read them first?

Interesting snippet on Sunday Supplement this morning. Alison Rudd was talking about Real Madrid and commenting on the way they sign people for mega bucks but then make them work their socks off.

Neil Ashton asked her why that was okay, but if Manchester City paid £40m for a player there was widespread outrage that City was ruining football. Her answer - I do not paraphrase - was that it was different for Real Madrd because they've always done it that way.

The people who usually argue that there is no agenda usually mean that there is no global conspiracy aimed at thwarting Manchester City. That is not what I have in mind when I think about an 'agenda'. For me, the agenda is right there in Alyson Rudd's comment - there is an underlying assumption that City should know their place in football's grand scheme of things, and it is not at football's top table; there is an established order, we are not part of it, and we have no business trying to include ourselves within it.

That mentality infects an awful lot of the media, and it infects UEFA too. Given they way City has been treated by UEFA and by the media, I sometimes genuinely wonder how it can be that there are blues who cannot see it.

I can normally tolerate this programme because sometimes there is the odd good journo on but when I saw the token woman was on I switched over immediately. She has no insight whatsoever, just comes out with the standard clichés. Obviouisly a politically correct addition to the programme.

MOTD2

18 minutes 50 seconds in, then for the next 5 minutes or so.

Worth a thread of its own.
Robbie Savage is a grade A fucktard, I honestly have no idea why he's allowed on TV. He never manages to make any points at all, then is never able to give any reasoning at all behind his random assertions.

I have to say that was borderline embarrassing. Like Einstein trying to argue with a chimp

He's a pathetic arrogant twat and I can't see that even the BBC will stick with him once his contract has run its course. There is no value in having a programme like that where there isn't an ounce of intelligence coming from one of their presenters. Savage has arrived at that point in his 'broadcasting career' where he thinks he has become the nation's oracle!. Frankly, he's embarrassing.
