But then again:

Surely Pellegrini has now won top tier titles (plus numerous cups) in three different countries?
Jose is pretty good. An obnoxious f@cker to be sure, but you can't doubt his credentials. He's certainly better than what we had to contend with last year.

Didn't we have him to contend with last year?
True. We did but not really in the end. We only had to see off Rodgers, which was no contest in the end.
Chelsea are stronger this year, but all going well, I fully expect to see Mourinho crack, just like Fergie and Brenda before him. Not being arrogant. I just feel optimistic about this squad.

Re: so this agenda thing.

lets take this Bale to the scum story (or non story). there are only so many clubs that can afford that sort of player as it is. to restrict some of those just makes the ones that can either have a free run or buy the player cheaper without fear of competion for his signature. it also cuts down the players options. the fact some of the clubs bidding, including his present club are millions in debt it makes the whole debacle a disgrace. Financial fair play? really? you need permission to bid? you need to be in the cartel? if you buy this player we will ban you from tournements? is that really financial fair play?
this was invented to stop teams from breaking that cartel, and mainly manchester city. yes PSG and others are affected but the truth is the premier league is the biggy, thats where players who are thinking of a move would prefer to come.add in the fact that we are closest and the most high profile competitors to their cash cow out come the sanctions.they are doing this because we have overcome traditional drawbacks like "istory" "status" and even better "not in my lifetime" to win the premier league. we are a real danger to their money making closed shop. a honourable mention should go to spurs, they too broke up the top four but poor buggers couldn't sustain it. we can and platini knows that. we have already shamed them in to looking in the pot system in the CL, next is to see off that disgracful co effient scam.
of course these a the thoughts of a match going blue, nothing will stop me going to support the lads regardless of what platini and his cronies dream up but you know new fans the world over will pick up on clubs with the best players, the ones winning things, ones where they in their plasticness will wear players shirts from. guess what, the unrestricted teams make even more money. FFP is anything but fair, its cheating and there is an agenda out there, its as clear as day.

no club anywhere, be it city, united or fucking port vale should have either a free run or be restricted on buying a player who in the first place wants the move and the funds are in place to broker the deal. to implement a system where a club riddled with debt can go on a spendind spree is not only a mockery of the alledged reasons for ffp being introduced is actually a fucking scandal.

a well reasoned and thought out post de niro and i agree with the majority of it
the "biggest" teams regardless of their financial situations have always bought the best players
its just the way of it big cities/towns bigger populations, potential more crowds equals more revenue
the biggest cities london, manchester, liverpool have generally been at the top and read across the same in europe
now this bale "non story" i'm sure is a rag media invention to keep the hoards happy
i'm not sure utd actually need him when they already have de maria(and one of the reasons he left because of bale)

ffp is to keep the elite, elite and we are one of them now(yes without it us and PSG would have probably run riot)
and the fact we are linked with manzukic at 25mill is testament to this.

Have to say, this is the way I like it. This season they are finding it hard to put us down.
We have silently slipped our way back to level points under the radar (I know Chelsea play tonight).
We are the form team although what you would consider our best players, are ether missing, or have been missing, for most of that form.

We are dealing with all adversity without fuss, and the media know it, in my opinion, but won't big us up. On the other hand I think they also know
it is very small minded to go to town on us like they have in the past, because the whole world can see that the facts don't hold up their arguments.

Hence, you are getting 'nothing' stories or snippets like the ones mentioned here, that can only hint at negativity.
There is nothing to be negative about and as a result things are relatively quiet about us. So, all they can do is try to talk up, the rest.

I like it like this and hope it lasts all the way to City taking the title again.

There's a word for that:http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/snide

Good post, btw.

Re: so this agenda thing.

Psg probably help the scum out and buy Di Maria for 60m so they can bid for bale

Mark Ogden's written an astonishingly positive piece in the Telegraph. My ghast is well and truly flabbered:

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/11310217/Why-Manchester-City-have-the-edge-over-Chelsea-in-the-Premier-League-title-race.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... -race.html</a>

Just read it and I have to say I am shocked at how balanced it is. In fact I would even go so far to say it is generous towards us, for example rating PellegrinI and Mourinho as equal. Yes there were things in it you could not pick about, but overall it's a very decent article. I think I need a lie down!

This... Ffp has shut the door on the likes of psg and Monaco, we have made so much progress that the impact on the pitch is not that great at the moment.

you are right about the elite but whether are part of it or not I don't like it. football should open to all. the Everton's and say Villa's of this world stand no chance if we and other(even the debt ridden)clubs close the door on them. their fans have a dream just like we did when watching the Stuart Pearce days. we shouldn't take that from them.
