You don't sign a guy based off one fantastic season. Sure if mahrez has another fantastic season next year then he would be worth looking at. But there is no guarantee he'll repeat his form next season if we signed him

You could kill any discussion with I'd prefer X, only X isn't always available.

Mahrez is reportedly on £35k pw and LCFC have yet to tie him down. These reports were made very recently. On the other hand Neymar isn't going anywhere even if bids were made, Barcelona and the player aren't going to move. Likewise Kroos.

We've bought quite a few players off the back of a good season to be fair
