Wonder how relations with Wolfsburg are after KDB?

I don't think they will put up much of a fight this time because he's already said he's not signing an extension and he wants to leave. Think they are putting all their anger towards Dortmund over andre schurrle.

And as a general point as much as people on this board mention how much football they don't watch outside of City, I just laugh at all the negative comments on our signings and potential signings. ESP the Nolito comments. Players and managers all rate him highly which hold more weight.

he was talking about dribbling to take people on close control as that is what this lad is all about and why people are ring about him...he has amazing feet when you watch him dribbling.

close control is obviously a given in all pros...maybe you are being tad facetious?

No i wasn't. It was a comment on you saying he couldn't be a full back because he had good control.
Which i thought was a daft way of looking at it.[/QUOTE]

well that is not what i meant at all

I meant thats not what I would first look for (given that all top level footballers have good close control)....id be looking for someone who is positionally excellent, superb at reading the game and can tackle and head a ball well (particular at the back post where Kolorvo and Clichy are both weak). Id then be looking at also how good he is at going forward which is clearly one of this lads attributes

Like i said at the start of all of this, Im more than happy to trust Pep on this one as he has a reputation of developing young players and developing players into positions where they advent previously played or have little experience of. - but do we know that is the actual plan as like i said at the start as well, wasn't he suppose tp be going straight out on loan again as well?

I'm still worried about our CM, we really need at least on more Class CM. The only world class one we have has just joined and is injured. The next best is Dinho, who is good but he's not on that top level of the boys at Real/Barca/Bayern.

i think my sticking point is the nolito purchase....i think he is the one Im not impressed by at all....I think he is absolutely average whereas aubamayang could have filled a number of roles either outside or in the central role (if needed a lot better)

Sane and Stones I can see why we would go for them as the potential is there

The keeper and fullbacks I know nothing about

Zinchenko likewise but it was being touted that he would be loaned straight out again
How much of Nolito have you actually seen?

Honest suggestion here: go back and watch Nolito vs. Turkey. It'll make you feel better. International tournaments are always a bit misleading, and Nolito was up and down... but watch the player who came out against Turkey. Even if he doesn't make Pep's starting squad on Wednesday nights away in Europe, watch that player and know that he could be lining up at 3pm against Middlesborough. He'll have a job to do for us, if nothing else than to relieve pressure on others. It'll be great.

Also regarding Zinchenko, hopefully we're holding onto him in the absence of any LB signings. He has experience at the position, and the idea of someone with that kind of close control in a backline is hilarious.
This, so much this because that Nolito is exactly the kind of quality that we have been missing against the lower/mid level opposition in the Premier League. We need players who can do a job on the night so that others can rest and do it well enough that we can win.

so even with pep in charge it seems we are struggling to get the bigger target players in? not a flapper post by any means just an opinion at this time? obviously it cant be helped that we are bidding big on players but having offers turned down (60m euros for bonucci is a lot!) but we need a real step up in quality at centre back, left back, right back and centre mid?

I hadn`t realised the transfer window was shut.
