I'm guessing you are talking about A Garcia instead of fernando and the young lads at fullback

Id be more than happy with the young lads at fullback but Garcias role is so pivotal that I think a slower intro will be needed rather than throwing him in at the deep end (especially against the stronger teams).

But he doesn't have to go in at the deep end if Pep believes he's not ready. We have a bunch of players who can play there. What we don't want, is just Fernandinho & Yaya in centre mid, two wingers a No 10 & Aguero up front & a sloth at cb, like we had last season.

If we have 3 mids & two fullbacks occupying midfield places with De Bruyne or Silva, we can choose what type of player we have in each position as we will have the numbers there rather than just Fern legging it around a fat Yaya.

You're doing the lord's work in here, Neville.

If we're keeping score in this thread, kindly put me down for the "why the fuck are we all losing our minds?" group. As a personal aside, I think worrying about the month of August is terribly myopic. Couldn't give a shit if we lose every game (CL qualifier would sting, to be fair). This is a very long, exciting journey we're going on, and it's going to be bumpy at first. I'd hate to lose my shit and freak out before we've even ventured down the block. If there is a signing that helps the project for years to come and is healthy for the month of August, great. If not, no worries... it's going to take time any which way we cut it, so might as well get on with the growing pains.

That's what I find strange. I'm absolutlely buzzing about the future of the club but so many people seem more worried about this autumn. I don't give that much of a fuck about it personally.

I think that as a club, we've hit the jackpot. It's just a matter of when it pays out.

I completely get what you are saying (and agree) but if it takes half a season to get things right (when we have been told that they have been planning for this ever since employing Mancini) then Im sorry it isn't good enough.....even with less warning it would be clearly obvious to the average fan that some of those players in the squad would not fit into a pep side.....so better planning and implementation of said plan would enable replacements to be bought who do fit in and those that don't then sold on. If also we only have pep for 3 seasons (lets hope its more) then possibly wasting half a season is even worse

The shame of it is that I have neutral friends who are more appreciative of what we're doing than some fellow Blues. Have a Spurs friend who discusses our plans like a perfect storm descending on football. If I had a choice between stumbling to 1st place in the league this season with a patchwork squad and a watered-down version of Pep's system, or 4th in the league with a baptism of fire and young kids growing pains, I'd take the latter. If we get this right it could be the greatest side to ever play in the league, with an average age profile in its early 20's.

'Not good enough' is just a chosen state of mind. We don't know enough about the details of each situation, to make that call.

If someone has been useless & not done their job properly I find out about it, then it wouldalter my opinion. But I know nothing about the inner workings of the club over the past few years, nor what's happening right now but from what we have done, it all seems absolutely fine to me from the outside & I'm absolutely delighted & I'm intrigued how Pep will try to solve this problem early doors. Not concerned or arsed, just intrigued.

If it was the rags in our position, I would be depressed.

do you not think that even looking at the team perform last year and knowing how pep plays it was clearly obvious that some players would not fit....i think its blindingly obvious even before the transfer window opened/even last season when pep was first announced.

To not do something about key areas of the first team that are going to struggle hugely with pep wanting to play a certain way isn't good enough for me.....

We know that Txixi et al has had at least from last february to prepare for this (probably longer than that) and the problem with the fullbacks isn't being solved, the problems with needing at least one centre half (potentially needing 2) is only just being solved (when Pep said he would like to have his players in time to train with them) and an overhaul of the central midfield area is only half complete.
