Yes.

And a quality transfer window it has been. We could potentially have used another CM but as a general principle I'm happier leaving this window than I have been for 5 seasons.

I think we have addressed the areas that needed looking at, and if you ask Pep, he'd probably tell you he's got 90% of what he wanted.

Looking at the players coming through, and I think he will use Maffeo and Angelino etc, this window has probably been the one that everyone keeps banging on about. By that I mean the turnover of a squad that has served us so well.

If this team picks up a couple of trophy this season, important ones, we will look back on this as the greatest window since the take over.
Time will tell I think.

I once again worry we haven't done enough to significantly improve our first XI, given the money we've spent.

I really hope we get another quality CM in and in his place ship any of the three that started last against SB out.

Agreed
What happened to the good old striker days with aguero , dzeko, beast and jovetic

The days when we played 2 upfront and had 4 strikers.

Now we have 1 upfront and have 2.

You do the maths.

I don't understand how people can see the teams he's managed and fail to see pep has no interest in having loads of strikers. His only backup for Lewandowski was Müller, at Barca he had 4 forwards for 3 positions.

He's already said there are 3 strikers ahead of Bony, so clearly he thinks either Nolito or Sterling can be back up there, and he's the manager who re-invented the false 9 - where Silva has played plenty for Spain and I'm sure KDB could easily play as well.

We have loads of options up front.

It's not difficult to grasp, is it?

Formations are just numbers to pep. The fluidity of the team is critical.

Augero is not an old fashioned British number 9 that runs the channels, chases the long balls or gets there first to the 2nd one. His name isn't John Smith.

We have plenty of cover for his role, and I think it's pretty telling that Pep has already suggested Bony is 4th in line.

It makes me question why the hell we bought him?

Aguero has been injured for half the season the past 2/3 years. Nacho came off injured Wednesday , just my opinion, but were light. In pep we trust. I've not seen enough of nolito to comment, but I know sterling cant/wont shoot, silva won't shoot, Navas again, leaves Kev for goals

Bony appears somewhat like the Mangala of the attack.

Both very physical players that lack the all round game to really complement what we're seemingly looking to achieve.

At least with Stones, Sané, Gundogan, you can see where they technically fit in, even if they don't all end up working out... which for a whole load of reasons new signings might not do.

With Mangala and Bony, it's difficult to see where they fitted into to a team that wanted to play total football.

Sane?

We can't just keep buying players though. We have to move some of the others out, even if we take a hit on them.

The loans must be a way of reducing amortisation so that when we do sell it minimises the loss on a player.

Next summer the out of contract players (Sagna, Zabaletta, Clichy, Toure) will really help to lower our wage bill and hopefully address the remaining weaknesses in our squad (CM, LB, RB). On top of that we can change our backup keeper (Caballero) and backup RW (Navas) (I think Roberts or Moreno could take this role and allow savings to be spent eleswhere).

Aguero has played 30+ league games a season in all but one of his seasons here.

So we need a back up for 8 games a season.

And as everyone else is saying, we simply are not light for options.

We have Gabriel Jesus in January who Pep said we bought because he brings goals. He will most likely be more of a false 9(to make it simple for some) That is our ST signing that people keep overlooking. Until we get there we have Nolito/Sterling/Sané who can get us by.

Anyone got a handle on just how much we can spend and stay within FFP boundaries, given the new PL TV money and the fact there probably won;t be much coming in given that every man and his dog wants to offer us a shit loan deal for players we are trying to push through the exit door. Just wondering if we might have one more big signing up our sleeves??

I'd be shocked if we signed anyone else. Now we need to focus all of our effort into shifting Bony, Nasri, Mangala, Yaya, Hart and maybe even Fernando, Denayer, and Navas

Think Navas will stay until Jan when his namesake arrives .... Good luck shifting the rest Txiki ... Do think there's an element of jealousy from other clubs that don't want to give us anymore financial help by actually buying a player from us for a fair market price!!!

He's been awful since the halfway point of his season with us. We did great work to get rid of him and I think even make a profit.

Something weird happened with Negredo, yes he dislocated shoulder if I remember correctly but he went from being on fire to being totally shit ... was strange!!

I think we will keep Navas too, but if a buyer comes in for him (Sevilla) and we can't shift one of the others I can see us shifting him. It's a long shot and I think he could have a good role here for more season.

I've read that it's no issue at all from a couple different posters. I think it was more to do with weekly wages and that'll be lowered once Nasri, Bony, Mangala, and Hart are off the books. I'm not an expert at all regarding FFP just stating what I've read.

Didn't we get a couple of hundred mill from selling a small percentage of the shares to China?
That's without the new TV deal.
Loadsamonnneeyyy!!!

nolito on the website is down under the strikers? I personally still think we are a world class centre mid short and have faint hopes that if we get nasri, bony, mangala and joe out the door then it frees up wages to get one in.
