We are not 6 years on from it being good and we never will be 6 years on from it being good because a trophy will always be good, end of.
Look at what there is to win and then think about the amount of teams trying to win them.
For some on here its win the league every season or else and that's frankly rubbish because its not doable.

There's a differencing between winning the league and challenging for it. Get off your high horse and realise it. Last year must of been a great season for you then, cup and top 4 why did we get rid of Pellers! Whatever happens this season hasn't been good enough.

If we win an FA cup then it will be a good year. Bare in mind we've only won silverware something like 12 years of our 130+ year history. Any trophy is a good trophy.

Of course I do. Im 46 and for most of my life I've watched absolute dross and loved every single minute of it to boot.
The current frustrations and problems are fuck all compared to what we as fans and the club have had down the years and this isnt misty eyed bollox its how i feel.
I want to win and i want us to win everything but the reality is its never going to happen and right now, its happening because of increased competition and we are going through a transition.
We have the best owner, the best manager, best academy and off the pitch as a business, its never been better so yes, we might win fuck all this year and yes i will be disappointed but its not the end of the world and we will be winning shit again sooner rather than later.
Every season watching City is a great season for me, yes regardless of success or not.

I think a lot of folk are talking like winning the cup is a foregone conclusion.
Let's be honest, there's hasn't been this competitive a last 4 in decades. We could easily lose at either round, likewise we could win. But stop talking like it's a done deal.
For me, it's a crap season. We allowed our rivals a free run at the league cup trophy, went out of Europe far too easily in the end and have stuttered all the way through.
We'll be lucky to get top 4 the way we are playing, but yes, we absolutely should.

I think we should get in the top 4, even top 3 if you look at the fixtures of all the contenders but it is certainly not a forgone conclusion and we will have to fight between now and the end of the season.

6 points from the Hull and Southampton games are now an absolute must. The rags surely can't slip up at Sunderland and I can see Moaninho parking the bus and taking a 0-0 at home to Chelsea so those extra 2 points could be vital ahead of the derby, we've shot ourselves in the foot with 3 draws and a defeat in the last 4 games.

I don't know if this is ironic then or not,but I'm 46 as well,and have like yourself,witnessed absolute years of fucking atrocious seasons,but ever since we got to the top table so to speak,my expectations have risen,I'll be honest,being a City fan,you can never get too carried away,as we all know what they can do to us,but I'm mortified as to how this season has panned out,I really am.
A minimum of a top 4 place and an FA Cup win,would certainly make me happy as fuck at the end of the season,but it's 2 big asks I know,if it's only to be 1 of these,then it has to be a top 4 finish,otherwise we are really gonna struggle to attract all these fantasy team players that come up on here,and that could and most probably will,set us back.
We cannot afford for this to happen,as apart from us all the other top 5/6 will try to strengthen in the summer,but the top 4 sides will get the cream,we need the cream

It wasn't all that long ago if you told me we'd get top 4 and the FA Cup, not every season even but every other or every third season I'd take it no hesitation.Seen a poll on twitter which asked is top 4 and the fa cup a good season. Fuck me we really have gone backwards haven't we, it's 2011!

The cup is far from a foregone conclusion for us. At the minute when we play one of the top teams we have little to no chance of keeping a clean sheet. We know going into these matches that we will have to score at least twice, and probably three times, to win. With three of the top 5 left in the cup it isn't going to be easy and to win the cup would be brilliant.

I see where you are coming from, definitely. With the £ and talent at our disposal now we should be up there every year challenging for the league. I suppose I have the view of in my life there was nothing like what we have achieved recently. I think the FA Cup is still "prestigious".
