The battle for 4th place

I'm still hoping for 4th at least (but I can understand why no-one will be confident about it).

Hopefully with Nasri and DeBruyne coming back soon, we can rest Silva a little bit and regain control of midfield again with Nasri's greater ball retention skills.

We don't have anyone to come in for Yaya at the moment because Delph, nasri and De bruyne are all out, but his legs have totally gone. He might still be quality on the ball, but a huge par of football is the work you do off it, and he doesn't do that. And it means we start with just one up top to accommodate him. He's a disaster and liability in all the big games.

I know there are more problems than Yaya Toure but if you are looking for the single biggest factor in our decline it's down to what has happened to Toure

Pellegrini is the biggest single factor to our decline. Nothing else even comes close.

I cant believe you are blaming Toure for that.

Its the managers inability to either set up a team around him and instruct the players how to play and what to do tactically or to play without certain players (Kompany)

Have you seen us play without Yaya recently - we are just as bad if not worse
Yes I must admit we're no better when Toure is not playing. However I think that is down to Pellegrini

I'd drop Toure when KDB, Delph and nasri return. At least we should improve defensively. And with Silva, Nasri, De Bruyne, Aguero etc we should have enough going forward. Toure costs us a lot defensively, and offensively because we end up playing one up front as we need a 5 man midfield to carry him. We can't do that. It disrupts the entire team

Who gives a fuck, big clubs don't worry about not making top four - might do the cunts who make the footballing decisions a world of good- and not to keep a wank football manager longer than he should be here.

Delph is not a patch on YaYa even if he had to run around the entire pitch for 95mins. Sure, I'd take Delphi in the team to complement Yaya but not as his replacement. Nasri seems to play better with Yaya and KdB a totally different player.

As for running off the ball, silva does much less off this yet you give him a free pass . When kdb/nasri are back, silva should be first to drop out and Yaya moved further forward. As for "disaster and liability", he ran the show vs Kiev in what was quite. A big CL game, same in the cup final. The disaster an disability is the manager who hangs him out to dry.

He's also probably the only player in the squad capable of taking a cross , and is something like our 3rd top scorer .

He makes the decisions.

I thought there was plenty of effort today, but he is not getting the best out of some very talented players. Fed up of saying the same thing.

I don't think any blue was surprised with the outcome. half expected it. Felt sorry for players and fans of MCFC today

Anything is possible and frankly it's a miracle that we still have a chance but let's not gloss over the form we are in.

In the last 25 games we have averaged 1.44 points per game. If we replicate that for the final 8 games we will finish on 62 points. Will that be enough for top 4?

In the last 8 games it is 1 point per game. That would take us to 59.

What is going to change to change any of this?

More worryingly, 5 of those are away and we still have 2 top 8 clubs at home whom we haven't beaten all season

On form we will probably finish 6th or 7th.

The powers that be must act now or it will be too late.

I completely agree with you. There is no excuse for this. It doesnt matter where we are in the Champions League at this point. We have no chance of winning it let alone beating PSG over 2 legs (on current form even 1 is a miracle).

This season has been dreadful and I do not see our form getting better in any way.
