Led Zep - uurrgghh my memory is the 6th formers at school trying to look cool by carrying around Led Zep albums when my gang were into Buzzcocks and the Rezillos lol.

Sorry Led Zep, as iconic a riff as that is I've simply had to choose tears for fears and I'm not even that fond it

Iconic riff at the start but it goes on and on until you skip at four and a half minutes.
All we need now is the dreary dazed and confused with its racket half way in.

For me this is a fairly titanic battle. Both are bombastic in their own ways, and both are absolute chock-full-of-hooks ear candy too. In the end because of all their catalogues Kashmir ranks higher for me as a Zep tune than Sowing does for me as a TFF tune, I went with Kashmir but it was close -- very close because I've always enjoyed Sowing. Had this been Change vs. Misty Mountain Hop it'd be a different result.

One song with a fantastic riff that then sort of meanders it's way with no real direction until near the end against a pop song, a fantastically over produced pop song, from a fantastically over produced album that does a bit of beatles near the end.

Zep all day, but just by a smidgeon. Great tunes. The iconic segments win this. Oddly, I liked it being sampled for the Godzilla soundtrack years ago. This song smacks of rage and collides with confrontation.
