The Bosnian Diamond changed the game - Dzeko is the man

Dzeko's a good player just wrong for our style of play. He'd get 30 a season for United who get the ball wide quickly and then put dangerous balls into the box. Wednesday's goal was a perfect showcase of his talents. We play it to the feet of our front men and look for interaction between them and the 'wide' players, Dzeko's touch and agility aren't good enough to play like Aguero and Balotelli do.

In a nutshell.

with dzeko its the amount of bad first touches that gets on peoples nerves

Well how did the Goat become such a legend then?

He did it by never hiding and Dzecko doesn't either.

-- Sat Jan 28, 2012 10:15 pm --

Lulic Lazio here's some friendly advice from a fellow Bosnian. Your English is currently a little
comical. Don't post until you get the hang of it. Lurk and read the threads, but right now, you're not ready. :)

His English is better than my Bosnian!

With Mario banned for:

Everton
Fulham
Aston Villa

I say this is the time for Edin to truly shine and pick up his form and confidence.

In that case we need a Plan B - Perhaps Johnson wide left and Micah on the right as a true winger, with a quick feed from defence/midfield?

yeh if he could get shut of that elephant touch he could be a good player !

Re: Edin dzeko

Seen him on Market street in town this afternoon walking towards me so I said alright Edin he totally blanked me, giving him the benefit of the doubt thinking he might not of heard me i repeated myself same result, pretty arrogant i thought. He didnt even make eye contact he just walked past. He obviously thinks he's far to important to nod his head at a passing fan

For every fan like you there's probably two d*ckheads who give him some sh*t prob even some knobhead blues who tell him he can't trap a bag of cment and think its funny - sadly we do seem to have some of our fans who think its ok to give sh*t to a player you don't like. Therefore, he probably thinks its better to just blank you as though he hasn't seen you. I got the same from David Silva when I saw him in Tesco's unfortunately there's also prob a lot of rag d*ckheads so you can prob understand them not wanting to get involved with someone they know nowt about. Sad but true with the idiots that are around today.

Re: Edin dzeko

I just hope he is fully fit from now and the shoulder injury he got in the first scouse game is no longer a problem.

His finishing and awareness to assist aren't in question. His first touch and hold up play is.

15 goals and 7 assists in 28 is a very good return but the majority of his goals and assists came early in the season when we were beating teams by 3 or 4 clear goals (... and in one case, 5 clear goals!).

Other than Wigan away, I'm not sure how many winning goals he's scored?

He's the equivalent of a cricketer scoring a hundred when his team are 300 for 2 but then gets a duck when he's really needed. He's the footballing version of Kevin Pietersen, looks brilliant when we're "on top" but doesn't do enough when we need to grind out a result - if that makes any sense whatsoever?
*I should clarify the statement above by saying that I like him and I'm looking forward to seeing him be a big part of our success over the next decade.

Dzeko would be better against spin.

He is always going to divide people's opinions - Goater wasn't exactly popular in the beginning. Dzeko does frustrate me at times (not sure what's happened to him in the last couple of months but he seems to be back on the goal trail which is crucial with Balo suspended now) but we should all be aware of what he is capable of, if he ends up with 20 goals in his first full season in England then that suggests he can go on to get enough goals to become a great player for us (i've pre-empted half of the BM membership collapsing and called ambulances at such a comment).
