The Boxing thread

Another decision that discredits boxing,you could count on one hand the decent scoring shots Warrington landed.
 
Every round was close enough for me not to know how to score any given round. I would've said Galahad or a draw but it's not a robbery by any means for Warrington to win.

Although 116-112 is suspicious.
 
I had Kid 6-5-1 but three or four of the rounds were close. I thought maybe a draw or Josh by a round but 116-112 was a disgrace.

Kid’s defense was immense and he rode most of the big shots from a Warrington. He probably didn’t quite do enough himself to take the belt on away soil but he showed what a class fighter he is.
 
Short of knockdowns or obvious dominance the fight should be judged on scoring shots and on that there was only one winner.
Hometown fighter and reinging champ the reasons he got the decision.

Yeah I was sad for him becuase he really did his homework and stifled the life out of Warrington.

But unfortunately (at least from what I saw) the only times he threw anything decent Warrington landed a few punches of his own, and the other rounds were just clinch-fests where neither guy did enough to swing it.

I reckon the judges that scored it to Warrington weren't enthused by the holding, but I'm not sure that should matter of course.
 
Warrington edged a pretty disappointing fight.Galahad was more intent on stopping the shots arriving by holding and grappling than he was throwing punches himself - credit to him for disrupting and frustrating Warrington with his brilliantly executed tactics but,for me,it ruined what could have been a classic had he decided on a war.He should have had a point taken after the first warning went unheeded.
