The Boxing thread

Billam-Smith left it all in the ring tonight with a real brave performance but unfortunately Ramirez was just the better man on the night. Different tactics might have made the difference but very entertaining not like the previous night
First time I've watched B-S but had heard much about him.

Maybe it was an off night but I thought he looked slow and plodding. But as you say he didn't take a step back, brave and extremely determined. Just looked to me like he lacks that little bit extra.

I'd never heard of the Ramirez fella so maybe I'm doing Chris a disservice.

He seems a very humble and likable lad so hopefully this was just an off night for him.

Yes his is a plodder, not the most technical fighter but brave and determined. Ramirez is a typical Mexican, tough as old boots

Can’t believe so many fell for the hype of this and stayed up for it.

This isn’t boxing.
Can understand and Tyson wanting to make money as he probably needs it but we’re talking about probably the most fearsome boxer the world has ever seen and our last memory is him getting turfed by a YouTuber . Bye Mike and hopefully we don’t see you again .

Ramirez is a real classy fighter and tbh Chris was always gonna be up against it in this one .

Pity his lad is such a dickhead.

It was a golden age of British middleweight boxing. Benn, Eubank and Watson. Throw in McLellan and Steve Collins, and it was a brilliant era.
Tbh I thought Watson was the best of them all and he schooled Eubank up until getting tagged but bloody hell what an era of fighters and the tines where great aswell because by 9.30 the main fights were taking place .

It was heartbreaking what happened to Watson. And, to be fair, I think it hit those other lads hard as well.. And yeah, not having to stay up until stupid o'clock to watch a fight. And the classic commentary pairing of Reg Gutteridge and Jim Watt.

Think I’d be hard-pressed to think of a boxer with as hard a head as Eubank. Granite.

My brother-in-law made his white collar debut yesterday at Ewood Park.

He is a terrific allround sportsman (golf, tennis etc etc) and I knew he would take to it like a duck to water as if it interests him, he's good at it even at the tender age of 19.

Ring walk to Rock n Roll Star (I've taught him well) and bossed the bout from start to finish.

Physically he is a specimen and has lots of athletic advantages.

Prouder of him, I couldn't be..........
