The Boxing thread

Rigo coming over to fight Jazza Dickens on the Flanagan Matthews card, absolutely buzzing. You either love him or fall asleep watching him

Snap up the tickets to see Rigo is what i say as he is a boxing masterpiece so good and strong. The boxing nuts will now pack out the place. Also wonder if the winner of Frampton and Quigg will show up. Huge fight for Jazza he does the unthinkable and wins and he is in with the big money fights.

Berserk news, well done Frank Warren.

It's great for Dickens and the fans but wtf is Rigo doing with his career

No suprise to see MGM involved, trouble follows them all over and everyone knows about the gangland ties. Far too many undesirables...
Yep. Jamie Moore took a bullet intended for one of those scumbags.

Dublin shooting witness: gunman ‘pointed gun at me’
Reporter Kevin McAnena has told 5 live he “never knew the meaning of the word terror until the last couple of hours” after gunmen opened fire at a boxing match weigh-in in Northern Ireland.

Kevin was in the lobby when men “dressed in full police uniform” entered the lobby of the Regency Hotel in Dublin at about 14:30 GMT. It is understood the men were carrying AK47 assault rifles.

One of the gunmen “leaned over and pointed a gun” at Kevin during the incident that left one man dead and two seriously injured.

The BBC strike again ........Dublin in Northern Ireland!! Fuckwits.

I live about 20 minutes from the hotel the press conference was at and I would generally go to it if I was in Dublin but lucky for me I wasn't there. I know of the background. 1 of the fighters is Jamie Kavanagh and if it is related to what they think gangland then its more than likely for someone who was there with Kavanagh. Basically Jamies dad was a big time player in trafficking drugs into Ireland and the UK. His dad got murdered there a little over a year ago and this could be a hit to do with this. The lads who say about MGM its true in that gym a lot of the Irish main drug lords on the Costa love there boxing and have been seen in MGM and are regularly at fights in Dublin and any MGM cards. This is were for Jamie it is bad I don't know who got shot. I cant believe it happened in Dublin but its shocking and I hope whoever done this get caught. My prayers tonight for the dead mans family and to the 2 others in hospital I hope they recover from this. This is a potential KO blow to boxing in Dublin and to MGM who have been doing some local shows over the past 12 months.

Yep. Jamie Moore took a bullet intended for one of those scumbags.

Jamie Moore is far from an angel, David tatton - the one who got shot in the brass handles is a mate. As for this Irish shooting - clearly part of the drug feud going on for years in Dublin.

Just watched the Kovalev Pascal fight again, didn't realise Stevenson or 'chickenson' as krusher was calling him, got in the ring after the fight with both giving it the verbals. A few pundits have said this fights currently miles off due to the TV networks. Personally, i think it will play out like the Floyd Manny fight ( on a lesser scale ) and will eventually happen, can see there being two announcers with neither giving an inch commercially. Not sure if they'd fight in Canada or Vegas, who cares just make it happen. I think Kovalev wins, tho superman will have other ideas.

Yeah David Byrne was shot dead. They have yet to name the other 2 guys injured. Its crazy and I feel for all the boxers involved to see that shit happening. Also for MGM gym and promotions too its going to be hard to get the backing for these shows after this. I hope I am wrong. Also for Jamie Kavanagh I just don't think the lad will fight in Ireland again as of this hit saying that if he is involved in any fights here or any sort of press conferences from now on there will be a big garda operation to make sure nothing like this happens again. Think Jamie is a decent lad and a fighter too but this could hit him harder than most. I hope I am wrong but I think he is best off going back to the US and fighting there again as he wont have any shit like this happening over there. Be the best thing for him to do again.

I just feel that boxing after what happen on Friday in Dublin the shows now will be few and far between. MGM promotions may well find it hard to get the go ahead after this hit on them and for the fighters in Ireland its a sad day Friday. Means a lot will have to up and head to the UK or US now to try and make a living.
