The Boxing thread

One point I disagree with you on is Wilder. Yep he's fought his share of no hopers but for me what he showed against Stiverne is a level or two above anything AJ's shown yet although he has had twice as many fights.
Must admit I didn't watch the full fight but watching the highlights Stiverne had zero head movement, plodding forward in straight lines walking onto shots all night he wasn't even leading with a punch half the time just a high guard walking forward. Is that really 2-3 levels above what Dillian Whyte offered(think he can still make something of himself personally if he wants it enough) while the fight lasted? I still say he should go for Wilder before Fury gets there, then he can prepare for a Fury show down later down the line.

Fury and Hearn handbags on Twitter...

Some of the idiots on Twitter asking Hearn to be charged more for AJ PPV and buying tickets to his show without the announcement of an opponent or an undercard is fucking embarrassing, also Hearn bragging he could charge fans twice as much for tickets says it all about him.

Breazeale is shit but this will be the standard opponent for AJ for a while, wont go three rounds.

His last fight:

Also the undercard of the Crolla show is fucking shocking.

Hearn has come out and said the undercard for Crolla wont be getting any better because hes paying Crolla such a fat wedge, hes a prick, as you said above he openly brags about how he could charge more.

He's a smug bastard, there's no reason that Murray Groves couldn't have been arranged for the Crolla card. Since when is it the paying fans fault what the fighters get paid, Barroso isnt getting a massive fee. Truth is without his Daddy and Sky he'd be about the level of a Mick Hennessey (no disrespect to Mick).

Hearn is a bit of a smug dickhead. But I also think fair play to him for making big names out of British boxers. If everyone earns well along the way, so be it.

He also makes a lot of decent 50/50's on his cards (admittedly not always - the Crolla card for example is a stinker).

But compared to the shite served up when FW was main man, I like what Hearn is doing. If he'd been around when Calzaghe was active, I'm sure he would have got him the defining fights he craved in his prime (not at the end of his career).

I agree mate, as much as I dislike Hearn, he is far better than fish eyes Warren.

I'm not saying Warren is a better option but giving Hearn an exclusive contract with Sky enables him to serve up shit like the Crolla undercard. Also he rarely makes 50/50 fights that aren't on PPV, just because Jim Watt tells me some fat Latvian with an unbeaten record is a 50/50 opponent doesn't mean he actually is. The reality is most of the people attending matchroom shows are casual fans and thats his bread and butter.

Well you know Eddie has been like that for years. Matchroom sport in general offer sky so much so this aint going to change anytime soon. Crolla fight weekend is so poor. He could of put on a few British title fights or 50-50s if he wanted to match some of his fighters. He has a few fighters who are itching to get out and box yet some are waiting for the fights. Jono Carroll should be moved up in standard of fighter by now not great power but is stalling with Hearn a wee bit undeafeated but not many KOs he is on the undercard of Crolla. Also Paul Smith could of been in with Rocky Fielding ideally would of been a good fight. The only fight that interests me is Shayne Singleton v Adil Anwar heard good things about Singleton yet to see him fighting.

From what I remember Stiv got tagged early on and it took a lot out of him but Wilder's footwork was first class and he threw a lot of punches for a heavyweight.
