Bit OTT putting anything before your kids IMHO.
Don’t you live in florida or somewhere like that?Having lived through most of Elizabeth's reign I can state I am immensely proud of how this Country have handled the passing of our Queen.
As you get older history seems to be more relevant as you increasingly look backward not forwards.
We are a small Country but our history ,our model of a constitutional monarchy are for me something to be very proud of.
I do not want this Country to dissolve into some republican non entity. I do not want us to become Luxembourg .
Sadly many sneer at duty, at patriotism , at service ,at pride in our nations long history including its laws and traditions. For many it is popular and 'edgy' to be cynical of anything good or great and to drag it down into the gutter .
I actually feel sorry for them as they have nothing to raise them up just a dreary pessimistic outlook on life.
That's my tuppenth anyway.
That’s mass hysteria for you. You get these odd people scrambling to one up the last sycophant. Hoyle's comments were the same thing.
Quite sad really, I'm not sure Queenie herself would have wanted these embarrassing remarks as a tribute.
I’d say it’s reasonably representative.48.2% on here - tranlates to 88% in the real world.
God's crying in heaven .BBC...
"There was a rainbow over Buckingham Palace and a rainbow over Windsor Castle. We will all be looking out for a rainbow today".
I think it's this sort of bullshit that annoys a lot of people.
God's crying in heaven .
I'd say it isn't. In much the way recent polling on here has called it wrong too.I’d say it’s reasonably representative.
Gut feeling is that half the population are monarchists, a quarter are republicans and a quarter either don’t know or don’t care. Half is more than enough to keep the institution going for the foreseeable future.
The don’t knows and don’t cares are probably under-represented in the poll because they’re not interested hence less likely to vote.
