The British Monarchy

Check this out for an example of entitlement. Move it yourself you jumbo eared ****. Fucking appalling.

If he'd moved it himself, correspondents would have highlighted his humility and good nature. Followed by a BBC article or half hour special about The 6 Times King Charles Surprised the Royal Household (looking at the times he deigned to pull out a chair or wipe his own arse)

And it would've been swallowed up by the majority, such is the nature of this crazy country

What’s the point in having a footman if you have to move your inkwells yourself?

To be honest if it were me the last thing I’d do before going on live tv to an audience of millions would be picking up 2 inkwells.

100% chance I’m ending up with ink all over me, the desk and whatever I’m supposed to sign.

It was the action. Not the moving.

Yeah it was an entitled and inpatient waft of the hand but the microphones are already on and everyone seems to be silent waiting for transmission so maybe he just didn’t want to say anything.

If you ever watch livestreams of radio hosts they can do similarly ride looking stuff when trying not to disrupt the broadcast.

I’ve made it pretty clear I’m not a fan over the last 3 days and there’s lots of stuff to dislike about him from the last 70 years.

I don’t think this is worth adding to the list.

Caught a bit of the stuff proclaiming him King and I get why a tourist would find all the colour, ceremony and pageant very entertaining and if I was a tourist I'd probably enjoy the historical aspect. But I'm a citizen of this country and to me it just felt like it was all a bit regressive and indicative of a country still in thrall to the past and with unnecessary deference at its core (not just to the monarchy). I'm all for understanding our past but with us it seems to have become more of a straitjacket.

I don’t dislike Charles. I was just fucked off with treating someone like that. There was absolutely no excuse for it. Some trying to find one, that dismays me. It costs nothing to be considerate and kind. That was my issue.

tbf, by agreeing to wear that outfit, you’ve lost any right to be treated with respect and dignity.

When you need a job and don’t have independent means you wear the uniform associated with it. They are human beings working hard to keep their families fed. To me they deserve respect for that and not to be treated like you own them. It encapsulated everything I hate about how working class people are treated.

It is us who won every fucking war that has kept them where they are. Built their palaces and continue to protect them. Show some fucking gratitude and respect. Unlike their lifestyle, it costs them nothing. We pay for that too.

Yeah, I wasn’t being remotely serious.

Whoop de fuckin doo, how very generous of them. Next they'll be giving us the seabed back.
You’ve literally said they do fuck all, it’s been pointed out they make a profit for the country and you say “whoop de do”.

You’re not going to change your mind so might as well finish this convo

So you're happy to debate the semantics of whether a King owned all his lands in the 10th Century, but still think the Royal Family are producing a profit due to the Crown Estates "ownership"?

"They" don't make the profit you're talking about.
You’re trying to muddy the waters here.

The 10th century doesn’t matter now, and right now they turn a profit.

What profit? If it's from the Crown Estates, then "they" are not turning a profit.

You also first brought up a 10th Century King and I replied "this isn't the 10th Century any more", so those muddy waters are of your own making ;)
