The British Monarchy

This thread is a revealing one - some pretty shameful remarks

What's shameful is having no qualms whatsoever about an unelected head of state charging public bodies to use land his ancestors stole, whilst also turning a bling eye to them living their life of luxury on the taxes of working people. That's what's shameful. It's also very revealing.

It’s true though. You look at Scruton’s life and musings and they align with yours. You even quote him to promote your feelings.

He wrote anti gay and anti female stuff. It’s categorical really.
You know nothing about me except that I agree with Scruton's analysis of European political events. He was an honest, very clever and honourable man and neither anti gay nor anti female.

You inhabit the same level of dark ignorance as the poster above - enjoy each other's company.

One can only respond to how you portray yourself on here.

You’re a fossil, just like Scruton, given your words on here.

Fortunately, the world has moved on.

Dark ignorance. That's a good one. What's revealing is that you haven't had a single thing to say about the revelations from the dispatches program or my overriding point; just waffling on incoherently about how the powerless need monarchies.

I've encountered your type on here before so have a nice life, I won't be indulging you further.

The alternative is worse...only if you allow it to be.

It looks like the monarchy has, once again, been called out, and I am pleased. Through much of my life they have managed to quash scrutiny through their special relationship with the press: a mutual, back-scratching convenience. I hope this ends, and not because I despise the monarchy, but because I despise people who take the piss out of those less fortunate, or who leech from the national purse. I couldn't give a toss if the person called out was a president or a king: it is the behaviour that needs to be beyond reproach. If you are a figurehead, act like one.

Delighted to hear it, I wouldn't want intrude on your happy state of blissful ignorance any further.

What's disgusting about finding the silver lining in the death of sophistic shyster at 75?

A man of such moral character he pushed Tobacco and defended the poison of Enoch Powell.

He was a ****. And for the most part, people that cite him usually turn out to be cunts as well.
I fear you may be another tragic victim of polarization pressure. Real life is simply not monochromatic although these days we are often deceived into seeing it as such by some very undesirable and powerful actors. It is cautionary to witness such a perfect example of its dangerous fruits on here.

As a fan of the sophist it's natural that you miss the point. The man dressed up his moronic musings as something profound by the use of poetic language. He sold a product people wanted to buy.

Real life doesn't consist of moral or philosophical choices between being a gay or straight person. It's a waste of time for people of his supposed intellect to entertain the concept.

Roger Scruton was a relic of another century. A bigot that looked backwards.

The Mail are now leading with 'The Full Story of Charles' Cancer Battle'. Rarely are the Machiavellian workings of our press laid out so clearly, and so shamelessly.
I wonder did they report on him charging the NHS to store ambulances?

It's shameless but not unexpected. Just remember you're on the right side of history when it comes to this, mate; however longer these parasites may be around, you're on the right side of history.

Bleeding the NHS to increase their billionaire portfolio. I don't think they probably even knew tbh as it will be their subordinate staff but at least they do know now. I don't hate the individuals. It is what it is etc Pep style. However it's time to become a Republic. Unfortunately I don't think it will happen.
