The Conservative Party

Do you lot ever get tired of typing the same old shit in every thread?

It's been a lovely day today and you've wasted it with your pointless moaning.

Spent in the garden then a few beers over a BBQ

People sometimes reference that most of my posts are during the night - there is an obvious reason

The board is very, very, very Left leaning

And the winner of comedy post of the year is...…………………………………………………………….Drum roll...…………………………………………………………………….

On the flip side it doesnt take much to be called a xenophobic, racist right wing nazi either...........

Its a real pity as this forum and its inception was imo a great idea.

The truth is its become an absolute shit show.

Everyone is as guilty as each other as well.
You more than most

Can't stand that "gammon" term. So a derogatory term for the colour of someone's skin is only allowed if the person is white? I wonder if it would be acceptable for a newspaper, or a poster on here to call Chuka a choc ice?

The term was born out of brexit and a particular question time where a gentleman was so angry when delivering his commemt he turned bright red.
I also believe the term was created by someone white and middle aged too and I only heard/read it to refer to someone who posts a very angry rant about fuck all and only people I read using it are normally committed to the brexit arguement.
Don't use it personally as I don't do silly knicknames and don't hear it in general political conversations I have.

It isn't comparable to slurs about people race or normal skin colour.

Also there is about 5 full on lefties on this sub forum and they are hardly in control of it enough to influence it's direction.

BM is neither left or right wing it is a good mix, that at times boils over, but isn't that the point of politics

“The time had been, when this burst of enthusiasm would have been cheered to the very echo; but now, the deputation received it with chilling coldness. The general impression seemed to be, that as an explanation of Mr. Gregsbury’s political conduct, it did not enter quite enough into detail; and one gentleman in the rear did not scruple to remark aloud, that, for his purpose, it savoured rather too much of a 'gammon' tendency.

The meaning of that term—gammon,' said Mr. Gregsbury, 'is unknown to me. If it means that I grow a little too fervid, or perhaps even hyperbolical, in extolling my native land, I admit the full justice of the remark. I am proud of this free and happy country. My form dilates, my eye glistens, my breast heaves, my heart swells, my bosom burns, when I call to mind her greatness and her glory.”

Charles Dickens, Nicholas Nickleby (1838).

Specifically aimed at white males, is it not?
