As Harold Macmillan famously said..."events, my dear boy, events".
And we're going to have lots of events over the next two years.
Imagine if there were riots, huge can't pay, won't pay protests, continuous strikes one overlapping another, NHS collapse, unemployment rising, appalling cold weather deaths, drastic increase in poverty driven theft, increasing reliance on food banks, even more rampant inflation, a housing price crash.
And these are just off the top of my head.
The political pressure to call an election would be overwhelming.
This government is tired and divided, at least a third of Tory MPs despise Sunak and his "soft" socialism, they don't consider him or his government Conservative at all, which means Sunak is at their mercy, u-turning on a daily basis to keep them onside, but it's an impossible task and effectively neutralises anything he wants to do. The right wing Reform UK is nibbling at Tory support, 9% in the opinion polls now. Every other day it seems another Tory MP declines to stand again. There are so many scenarios where a crunch moment might occur, that it's not difficult to imagine one or a combination actually happening.
Politics isn't always top down.

Fortunately I live in the real world and as much as I would love this government to self implode it is not going to happen. Nobody, and I repeat, nobody in this government is going to call an early election. Not only that anyone who thinks that there are going to be riots on the streets and that this would change things is dollay.Politics isn't always top down.

I agree with you, this lot will cling on to the bitter end, there will be no revolution and although they might lose the next election it will be closer than people expect as they continue to gaslight the nation and their friends in the press ramp up the scare tactics about a possible Labour governmentFortunately I live in the real world and as much as I would love this government to self implode it is not going to happen. errrr - looks like they are disenfranchising a lot of those places where they won seats off Labour - is it the same two feet they keep shooting themselves in or are they multi limbed?

They might not have passports but older Tory voters will have voter ID that the Tories will deny to younger voters. It's gerrymandering by age.
"Clearly worried that older voters could be disenfranchised (the elderly are less likely to have passports or driving licences), the rules were rightly amended to allow bus passes, travel cards and Oyster 60+ cards. Yet no similar travel cards or Oyster cards will be allowed for young people."
(And of course you only get an Oyster card in London.)

Oyster is a slightly iffy area to argue on - ever since I had one stolen and replaced, I've not had a photocard (or any card apart from the active chargeable part) with it. I'm not sure I would know how to replace it if I needed to.
The overall point on limitation stands though.
