The Conservative Party

Lynch is losing support. The public are fed up with the strikes, the only people supporting them are the 24/7 Lefties sitting at home thrashing away on their keyboards forever polluting social media.
Just think though....... Vote Labour.......you get the worst opposition leader in British history. Vote Labour..... You get Marcus Rashford. Vote Labour .... You get Gary Neville.

Bollocks.

Sunak is much more stupid than I thought he was. How thick do you have to be to back yourself into a corner by saying "I won't back down." Virtually every dispute in history has to be settled by compromise. He seems to think it's still the 1980s and he's Margaret Thatcher taking on Scargill, the "big bad wolf." This corrupt government can't expect to win a PR battle with nurses and ambulance staff.

Didn't Truss say she wouldn't resign as PM ?

They simply can't help themselves, and are so determined to show how " resolute " they are in the face of such crises, that they end up revealing their incapacity and ability to govern properly, or how to conduct a proper negotiation process , with the nurses of all people.

Hardly known for militancy, but ground down by this stupid government's intransigence and dogma.

Rishi has spent hours this afternoon not answering questions put to him by a Select Committee , and that incuded Bill Cash !!

Incompetence displayed at every turn .

Absolutly useless and irresponsible in their attitude and way of conducting themselves.

Been listening to the radio all day and have come to the conclusion that its time for me to fess up as one of the rabble that is bringing this country to its knees.

Why? You say.

Well one of the main topics of discussion on the radio today is the disaster that is the UK workforce. Obvs the Govts report steers well clear of anything being down to Brexit and concludes a major driver is people retiring. So folks like me who worked for 42 years and contributed to a pension fund all along ( a very Tory concept ) and bought my home with a mortgage which I have paid off ( a very Tory thing too ) so as a result I am at a point where I have never been so cash and asset rich. Also - the pensions in question - pay me monthly so at coming up to 62 I have no reason to work and no desire to work. People like Baroness Altman were asking why there are people like me and why would I not wish to access the "opportunity " and with it gain an income. ( such as the one my pension gives me )

Sorry but I am retracting my confession because in hindsight it was them what broke the fucker and they have to fix it.

There are only two ways to sort a dispute out - negotiate as settlement or shut the firm down....... admittedly they are half way to doing the latter anyway now but is you say Sunak is such a nob

Couldn't agree more. We have essentially seen a total failure of our political structure. Sunak's comments are aimed at his own party members and are inflaming the public crisis instead trying to resolve it. But, like Truss, he was not voted in by the public. He is not a statesman and is unfit to lead the country. The electoral system gives power to two main parties with not enough public accountability. This government has collapsed but is being allowed to limp on (because of its majority) while it conducts its own internal warfare. The country is bleeding to death.
If we don't modernise our politics quickly and adopt a fairer sysyem we could see civil disorder on a scale we have never seen. There are 50 million people outside the South East who have been left behind while the political classes (of all parties) have lined their pockets for decades.

You are so right in my view. In previous roles I’ve negotiated with multiple unions, I’ve overseen strikes and work to rules. One problem I posted earlier in this thread is so few people have hands on experience of full on industrial disputes. The days of smoky rooms and late nights till it’s settled have long gone. We’re left with a bunch of lunatics who are trying to be the hardest in the room. Choosing to stand behind the guidance of a pay review body who are in no way independent and who are appointed by senior government and who we now know based their recommendations on out of date figures and forecasts is bound to lead to trouble. The government is staffed by imbeciles.
Best present you could receive this year is a defibrillator.
Spot-on. In my earlier life I was a Trade Union offical and later in my career a senior manager. I have led negotiations during a dispute(strike action) from both sides. It's not an easy task but there is one basic rule which is "never back yourself into a corner." Sunak must be a total fool who is being very badly advised. To adopt such an aggressive stance at this stage is just sheer madness. Hiding behind the pay body and the media is the worst possible position. He is supposed to be leading the country FFS.

His stance reveals his lack of ability and judgement , which is very disturbing from the PM of the UK.

Yes I am surprised at his performance. After the lunacy of Boris and Truss I thought at least Sunak would try to calm things down, if only to keep the economy on track. He has done the opposite. Every day that goes by with this crisis is damaging the country financially. The UK has become a chaotic laughing stock. It is not the way to attract inward investment which we need desperately.
It is obvious to everyone that the Goverment will have to do a deal (not at 20 per cent either). Sunak has shown the NHS workforce total disrespect by refusing to even engage with them on pay. The RCN is the least militant union in the world and they have been treated with contempt.
