That’s as maybe but the voters aren’t really interested in the minutiae of the tax system, particularly that of a foreign nation.
What they are interested in is the increasing gulf between the rich and the poor and the increasing number of the latter and the increase in the wealth of the former and how this is affecting their lives more directly now.
Like I said, for a government which seems more interested in slogans and packaging and carefully ruffled hair rather than substance, the insensitivity and ignorance of this is remarkable, unless they are so arrogant that -as I said- they don’t give a shit.

Yeah, it's interesting that it's constantly written about as "his wife's income." I was under the impression that the whole point of getting married is that all income is the property of both people. So it's his income too. The fact that it comes from his wife's activities (or more accurately, sitting on her arse and being handed money) is irrelevant, and that's also why it's completely fair game as far as the criticism is concerned.

And let's be honest, there is absolutely no way they aren't dodging a fortune in taxes. No-one is choosing to have non-dom status unless it benefits them in some way.

Does anyone know if it's been confirmed that they pay tax on the income in India? Because as I understand it, income tax is typically based on residency, so there's every chance they're avoiding tax in India too by not being a resident there.

As has been said - this might be legal but it isn't right. Tories engineered the system that allows it. Cunts. We need them gone ASAP and a neew government to implement a fair tax system.

It is exactly the point.
We only pay for that if we pay our legally required taxes
I’m guessing she pays her legally required taxes (probably more than you, but that’s a guess).
We also pay for Angela Rayners personalised ear phones and other ridiculous expenses (on all sides) when these people don’t actually need them.
They all use the rules to their advantage
Change the rules by all means

Listen I pay and have paid all of my tax all of my life.
I didn’t get furlough during Covid but
I watched plenty of self employed people claim loans, furlough etc while working cash in hand etc
I know others who frig it so they pay as little tax as possible.
I don’t like it, but if the rules are there....
I’m not anti rich I think everyone should play by the rules
 
At a guess, as I don't know, but she probably pays less tax in India than she would here; hence keeping her Indian passport.

As i said tories laugh at people like you - those that think gaming the system is fine as everyone does it and just shrug their shoulders when tories are up to their eyes in corruption and conflict of interest.

The thing is Tories do it on a totally different scale and they are the ones that make the rules. They are taking the piss. Its endemic with them. Its not even 6 months since Cox was caught using his MP office wile working as a lawyers on behalf of a tax haven. That started the whiole thing about banning 2nd jobs that has since been quietly dropped. These people have zero qualms in raising taxes on ordianary working people wile paying fuck all themselves and ensuring their rich mates do the same. Cunts.
 
As I understand it having been married to someone from overseas, for us peasants rules seem different

As dual citizenship isn't permitted for Indain nationals, she must be here on indefinate leave to remain, as having been married to someone in that position that does not make you a non dom, she either has two passports and is blagging it or is fiddling the system.

Non dom claims have fuck all to do with citizenship claims, you live here you are a domicile and subject to our tax laws.

I also know this from living abroard and being pestered by HMCR over not paying NI during that time
