The Conservative Party

Ah the keyword of the tory on the defensive - envy, when you lot haven't got a thing to say that's relevant we will acuse people of envy.

Pretty sad really, how about pointing out recent tory successes instead to prove their worth.

Only a fool would envy the shit tip they have made this country into, it isn't envy it's despair at how low they have dragged the country down, but hey keep being proud of them, worst government in british history.

The Tory brain dead always reach for class envy when their batteries run low.

Class envy? I’m saying nothing lol.

Anyway Parliament is filled with privately educated on all sides who have little experience of life as millions of us ordinary citizens experience, none.

It’s why it matters not one jot who is in power as those at the top get richer, those at the bottom poorer and those in Westminster pretend to give a shit.

I'm not sure the Tories even bother with that pretence any more. Poverty is a result of poor life choices, the state has no business indulging the sloth and idleness of the great unwashed. The culture of welfare dependency has spread like a cancer in this country and underpins the post war moral decline of the lower orders.

If you were talking to a Tory voter your post may have a point. Not much of one mind. But as you ain't you have wasted your time completely.

Not completely, there are quite a few in here who prefer their Tories in sheep's clothing, they can't stop bleating about it....

The choice facing the nation....

Tweedledum or Tweedledee?

Meanwhile you and others on the left support politicians on the right in charge of the EU.

Tweedledum or Tweedledee indeed?

That makes no sense whatsoever.

What the ardent support of the most left wing on here of politicians like Tusk and Junker who if they where here would be Tories and the natural enemy?

No i know, makes no sense whatsoever but it doesn't stop you all does it?

Ask yourself why Jeremy and John hate them all so much?

Well never heard a labour supporter use the politics of envy tag.

I take it you mean labour voting remainers?

Not everyone feels the need to support either the Tories or Labour. If someone were to look at the politics threads on here it's easy to see that would be the sane option.

True but the polotics of envy tag is hardly something used by lib dems, snp, green plaid etc.
So the automaitic assumption is a tory would say it.

Appologies for misrepresenting your political allegencies.

Yes.

Led by centre right career politicians, what exactly does the EU do policy wise to appeal to the left?

A huge amount on the social compass of politics, human rights, freedoms etc.

It is capitalist in its nature though I agree but has regulations, this means if you were to align its policy to a UK party, you’d probably say Liberal Democrat’s currently.

The left mainly do like the idea of the EU because of its ability to change and implement policy in 27/28 countries. They believe that it’s right in its principles overall and that there’s a chance of moving its economic policy closer to socialism in the future.

That’s a massive point of being Remain, the belief that if you are unhappy with some aspects of the EU, it’s better to be a member and try and drive change.

Are you on the sauce? I don't have a clue what you're on about.

Focus on the last line of the post and reply to it, forget the typo in the middle.

For its enthusiasts in Britain our membership over the last 40 years has surely undermined that belief by now..

The EU has dramatically changed in our 40 year membership, it’s all your side bang on about and one of the few things you’re correct on.

The left aren’t wary of the EU generally speaking because it doesn’t look anything like it did in the 1970’s.

I don’t wish to speak for @The perfect fumble but I would imagine he likes the EU because it represents the best of capitalism, in a world almost entirely capitalist.

I would also imagine he believes the EU can be steered further to the left.
